Just means Ajax will have gone off the boil by the time the final comes up.Moaninho already getting excuse in. Ajax finish their season this weekend, united still have 3 to play.

I was surprised at the result too. They were fortunate to score first otherwise with 3-0 Lyons would have gone through. They really should have been more comfortable with a 4-1 lead. Instead they were close to being knocked out.The looked suspect at the back tbh. Should be goals!!
It's youth v money in the final. If Ajax win then this will be named the new generation for Dutch football, something they've been crying out for in years.
Good football vs boredom.
Used to watch utd more in the past, hoping they would drop points etc, but this season its just painful to watch.

I would say both commercial and pride for the Mancs. Their pride as a big club would surely be wounded if they didn't win the final as well as missing the CL again.in the end:
Utd are in final.
Ajax are also in the final... they finished 2nd in Dutch league losing the tiel due to one more draw than PSV (they had superior GD) This puts ajax into play offs for CL groups
Please note... if Utd win they go ino the gorup stage of CL. However if Ajax win they won't they will still only go to play offs.... why? cos dutch league is not in top 10 counties in uefa rankings
1. this win matters to ajax from winning a cup, to push the dutch league back up into top 10 and for the pride. They can still be in groups of CL by winning a play off next year
2. This win matters to utd as if they fail (based on expected 6th place in league this year) they will be in europa and the 300k per week wages are all that will get them players... it will also damage thier sponsorship. In other words yes they are playing for a tophy most fans don't care about but its all about the money
One club is for pride, the other is all commerical.

I'd care about it. I was really disappointed we didn't make it last year.
I get your point though, these days it's all about the money.

yes that's you and me... but to a manc? a plastic? this is the cup that's 2nd tier. That's their mentality
I was disappointed too.

maybe... but it'd be pride at not being in CL, not from losing a final
If they do end up in the CL i hope they don't get another soft draw.
I'd like to see em given a reality check by Real, Bayern or Juve!
They'll go straight into the Group stages if they win the EL
