Pass on Bertrand. He's alright but doesn't offer great deal going forward. He's 28 so really how long would he be able to get up and down pitch for, another 1 or 2 years? Probably cost around £20m as well.

Better value out there for sure.

I actually agree as much as I rate him it's too late now he'd cost too much for a player of his age.

Team of the week on BBC...

Ryan Bertrand

This lad has become a top-class performer. To watch his development at Southampton has been a real pleasure. We all knew that he was a player as a youngster at Chelsea - the question was: What sort of player?
He showed maturity beyond his years when he surprised us all and performed so well in the 2012 Champions League final in Munich, but it all seemed to come too soon.
Since leaving Stamford Bridge he has become the master of his own destiny and looks more accomplished the more I see him. Against Liverpool, who appeared to get more desperate with every minute, Bertrand look composed and in control.
Even when he picked up his yellow card for kicking the ball away he knew precisely what he was doing; stopping the ball from re-entering the field of play before the Saints could reassemble. He took a booking for the team.
Should Liverpool qualify for Champions League football next season I seriously suggest Jurgen Klopp gets his chequebook out and pay whatever it takes to take Bertrand to Anfield. The player is in that class.
And here was me thinking he was a bus driver who'd wandered in off the street.

Yes we will swap Milner for VVD. You're getting the best left back in the league and model professional. It's a great deal

Find all the Pickford rumours amusing. We bought Migs when Sunderland managed to stay up, yet somehow Pickford is better despite Sunderland being absolutely awful and being relegated with 4 games to go.
Frankly its too soon for Pickford to move to any big clubs, he's too young and would crumple under the pressure and he's nowhere near the levels of other top young gk's were at his age. Courtois and De Gea were miles ahead by the same age, had played for a major club and had CL.
What would be best for him would either to stay at Sunderland and try to win the Championship or to move to a mid table team and actually play with less pressure.

Pickford should go to Everton or saints if either are interested. Go be first choice for a mid table team looking to push for Europe. No point for city or united etc

Keeper merry go round this summer.
De Gea to Madrid - Schmeichel to Man U - Pickford to Leicester

Leicester would be a good team for Pickford
Odd thing is, for the first time since the saga began Balague has come out and said de Gea has no wish to leave United.
This worries me because the ****er is always wrong about Spanish footballers <grr>

1. Its not pickfords fault he plays for sunderland while others got bigger clubs by luck of draw.

2. He got injured and it really affected sunderland.

3. Its actually easier be a keeper for a **** side. Lots of saves and no blame for letting in 2 or 3... so playing for a big club is all about consistency, big moments and not letting in goals.

Id agree hes not ready for big time but everton would suit him nicely.
