I'm a big fan of the wing-backed 5-3-2 and that looks like a big up-and-coming way to go about things, though I think we do limit our attacking play if we cut out the wingers completely. Sam, Nunez and Snodgrass are the only part of the team that really look representative of a top-six Championship side and by bringing the seldom-scoring Grella in, I think that could damage our confidence even further. We need a bit of consistency and I think the 4-2-3-1 is still the way to go about it. It's the personnel, not the system, that's failing. And of course we're lacking a striker, a holding mid (unless Brown really steps up) and a proper left-back. You can try paper over those cracks with any formation but I don't think it would have any effect other than making the team look even less gelled.
