I thought the sending off was a bit harsh. Ball to hand without a doubt.

I'm talking about prior today when I have been on the phone and able to see your posts. <doh>

Ah yes. Heavily insulting someone should generally be ignored if a faint compliment follows..

You scum of the earth **** who occasionally posts interesting points.

Don't take offense, I finished off with something positive.

You asked when you last responded to me? I replied with a FACT.

It's a real problem I have.

You do seem to have a problem, you split hairs to get your jollies from boring people to tears.

Sad little man.

You do have this trait of accusing me of hair splitting or pedantry when I state FACT. It's equal parts confusing and endearing.

And yet for someone hurling insults this way you just cannot help yourself replying. Surely the easier approach on your part would be to 'ignore' me.

One of the important reasons that Newcastle were clear favourites for promotion was the quality of their manager. That promotion has been achieved - reasonably good job done by Rafa.

Agreed, good managers have failed in the league before, and even this season. It's never a given. Only Paul Mersen sycophants would believe that ANY team doesn't require an astute manager.

Yeah, having by far the best squad in the division had nothing to do with it... Colin would've got 105+points with that squad in that division and most people would suggest he's a worse manager than Rafa.

Do you think he's done a good job this season then? Honestly? I stand by it, he's a terrible, terrible manager. As I said on another post at the time - which strangely people keep forgetting to quote - I'd fully expect Steve Evans or indeed Iain Dowie to get that squad promoted this season.

Last time they were at this level under Hughton they streaked away and finished the season unbeaten at home. This time, with riches only Villa in the division can touch, they've limped over suffering way too many defeats in the process.

Massively underachieved. FACT.

"He is the only manager in history to have won the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup"

That bloke sounds a terrible, terrible manager. Wonder who it is?

We had the best squad and the highest wage bill when we limped over the line and into the play offs. Yet that manager is considered some sort of footballing genius.

Did we have the highest wage bill?

We had the best squad and just about the highest wage bill when we limped over the line and into the play offs. Yet that manager is considered some sort of footballing genius. We limped over with the fourth highest wage bill, Chris Hughton did it with the 9th highest.

People have this idea that we bought our way back up into the PL, yet we made a Net profit of £31m in our transfer dealings this year. Villa spent nearly £80m. Brighton's owner has spent £200m since coming in, Brighton also made the biggest financial loss in the Championship this year, yet no one cares to mention this.

out of the last 43 teams to be relegated from the PL, Nufc are one of 3 teams to achieve automatic promotion the next season it takes more than just spending money to get back up.

The Championship is a much tougher league compared to when we were last in it. It will be tougher again next year. Teams like Villa & Norwich spending money. good managers like Wagner and the Fulham guy, maybe Hull will find this out next season? I'd personally prefer Swansea to go down as I wanna nick Sigurdsson off of them.

Why the last 43 teams?

Brighton are everybody's favourite so nowt will he said.

Who mentioned anything about you 'buying your way back to the PL'?

Brighton haven't had tens of millions of parachute money.

And we did that with Steve Bruce in charge. Whoop di ****ing doo.

I have never, ever heard anyone refer to Steve Bruce manager as a footballing genius.

I said some sort of genius. Which doesn't mean everyone went round calling him a genius. Though I once heard a bloke in the pub say that he thought that getting Hull City promoted twice meant Bruce was a footballing genius. So I am correct anyway.<laugh>

the last 43 cos that's the stat that I'm using. 3 teams go down a year and out of the last 43 only 4 have returned automatically the next year.

Everyone mentions the money we have spent. Brighton haven't had parachute payments no, but neither have Newcastle. You don't receive any parachute payments if you return to the PL the next season. That money is equally spread between the remaining teams in the league.

And no Steve Bruce is not a genius
