We were not aware of this injury problem so the critisism was justified imo, as of late he's been very good and I hope that continues. The debate vs Hendo is interesting Hendo at times is a very good player, he packs a lot of effort into his game but is certainly not the top midfielder that we need and Can is showing that he is more than capable of playing in there at DM or CM at a better standard than Hendo. Playing both is dangerous as Hendo is always looking backwards and safe when in the CM role so we end up with almost 2 DM's and the link to the forwards suffers, reversing that role and playing Hendo as DM hasn't worked in the past, I don't know why? Getting rid of Hendo to me is an option and replacing him with a box to box midfielder who can challenge Wijnaldum and Lallana, there's simply not room for everyone here. We need cover at DM though so is Hendo going to play a role as cover for Can? We need to know this as if he's not then we need to keep Lucas.
Keane is leaving Burnley this summer apparently. 1 year left so they want to cash in rather than lose for nothing next year. Lots of clubs being linked. Not seen enough to see if he can adapt from a defensive team where is well protected to big club.
Henderson is done according to klopp. It's like ferguson is a genius to spot this just from his gimpy gait.
We should have delle alli playing no 8 right now.... but we don't cos some people still at lfc are idiots.
Not if he's happy to stay as a sub and cover and that's the big question, will he accept that role knowing that next season he may get a bit more playing time with European games being there.
Absolutely. You give us kante and we ask utd to give you the Hash tag. Utd can make do with sideshow bob
What's the point if he can't run.... Answer this... did anyone miss kolo toure this year despite our Issues? I don't really recall anyone saying oh if only we kept kolo here as Lucas played cb. I recall a lot of sahko debate though. Imo keeping him at a much lower wage is only for league cup games.... if he is willing to do that what does it tell you.
Klppps conference today. Hendo is a decent squad option - he's completely unreliable now. Can't rely on him.
That he wants to play for us, he's shown in recent games that he's an experienced option. I'm not suggesting he should be first on the team sheet but every squad needs experience and he's a good player and as cover for DM we'd struggle to find someone of his experience who's willing to take a role where he isn't going to start.
Just my opinion but we would be making do as per if we do this. Admittedly we don't have a single decent u23 option in this position.
Allen maybe but that is to be seen. I disagree though anyway I don't see Lucas as backup as "making do" how many teams have world class players sat on the bench waiting to come in? You have to accept that sometimes all you need from cover is someone who can come in and do a job from the bench or as cover short term. If Allen can step up and show he's good enough then I wouldn't want Lucas in his way but we really don't know how good this kid is yet.
Where did I say world class at any point to I just said the guy can't run any more. We need guys who can run..
The "run" line is just MITO nonsense though, Claude Makele stopped being able to run at 12 years old but was still a quality DM due to his positioning. Have a look at the Robson Kanu booking against Lucas against WBA, class defending, no running required.
Can Lucas run with a player over 10/15 yards or not. Why is carrick on the bench at utd.... cannot run either. With respect to discount the ability to get about is bollox and we have seen this exposed countless times
