Also don't trust the Italian teams at all. They would probably pay £5m, with the rest wrapped up in some ridiculous conditions.
Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Reds to pip Everton to £20million Joe Hart deal? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-rumours-reds-10252504 Steven Gerrard believes Everton midfielder Tom Davies is capable of becoming a “superstar”. Davies has broken through in impressive fashion at Everton this season, establishing himself in the first team under Ronald Koeman. http://www.football365.com/news/gerrard-compares-superstar-tom-davies-to-him Daniel Sturridge says he could walk away from Liverpool this summer to find more regular first-team action. He said: “There are things I want to achieve with Liverpool. I would never say I am Liverpool until I die, because I would be lying. "I think any player who says, 'Oh yeah, this is the only team I will play for, for the rest of my life', they are deluded. “In football, every team looks for replacements every single year. I am so ambitious, so hungry, right now for success that it is hard to put it into words. “Now I'm in a place where I feel amazing, and I feel ready."
Bye then Sturridge...last manicure must have been a real doozie! He's feeling like a different woman!
Harsh. Lucas has been decent cover end of this season and is an exeperienced player that loves the club and is more scouse than rest put together! If he's happy to stay and be back up I'd keep him especially for cup games, but if he wants first team football week in week out then let him go
Simon Mignolet has made crucial saves in both games, has he done enough to be Liverpool's number one next season? Should a new goalkeeper be a priority for the Reds? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/van-dijk-everything-you-want-12915089
We do need someone with a creche workers licence for next years league cup. However... the reality is he cant run. Sadly theres no room for sentiment and sentiment meant gerrard got to stink up the place for 6 months while we fell apart. If gerrard had to go then lucas certainly does... but we need senior players in not young lads.
Haha it was harsh. Fair play - he's been here 10 years and deserves respect for that. If there was a figure to symbolise our fall from grace and defined our mediocrity over recent times, it would be Lucas. Good professional, didn't complain, had some balls about him but sadly wasn't good enough. No new deal for him - should have gone a long time ago, a few decent games here and there doesn't compensate for years of average performances. He's one of the players that we hold to low standards so he will get praise for tying his shoe laces.
jeez Jim i'd love to see your assessment of some of our players from the old days i.e. Jimmy Case, Alan Kennedy, Emlyn Hughes et al you would have have had them all shipped out "tomorrow"
I love Lucas. Attitude professionalism. Love of club. In other years I'd be happy with a one year extension...and if we somehow **** up the transfer window and he's necessary as a squad player so be it. I'll be extremely unhappy with that scenario..not because of Lucas but that we apparently couldn't find upgrades in a vital area of the pitch. Ideal scenario: we sort the midfield first team picks this window and then if he's happy to be a squad player with limited game time by all means stay because of his lack of ego and influence he'll have on the younger players. If as he's stated he wants first team football..he can leave with a hug and a cheer. He should not however by the end of the summer even be first choice back up.
Hope we don't **** about this summer. Yeah the likes of VVD will cost a **** load of money but if we can get that done then do it - not like we've spent heavily in recent years (because of sales we've made), didn't want to just buy for the sake of it in Jan either. Let Klopp spend what he wants to get his targets
