I think he's learning fast. Still can't talk in complete sentences, but a large number of the so called policies he went on about during the election campaign have been dropped or reversed. The alt right lunatics who had his ear are being sidelined and realist/pragmatists taking over. Almost anyone else would have been preferable (though not Ted Cruz), but not as bad as I expected.

North Korea is scary, but the US has to stop them before they develop an intercontinental missile and mini nuclear warheads. They had stopped their nuclear weapons programme, but resumed when George Dubya Bush lumped them in to his 'Axis of Evil' swiftly undoing 10 years of tricky diplomatic work.

Re Trump: Weird, isn't it? Instead of complaining he isn't keeping his election promises, we're pleased he's dropping some of them - if, in fact, he ever meant any of them anyway. I guess some of the people who voted for him may not be 100% happy, though.

Re N Korea: They scare me too. People in a corner do the unexpected - even when they end up worst off when the dust settles. Gunboat diplomacy isn't the best idea, but we may already be too late for the normal sort.

They have nukes already. Only how far developed and their current capability seems to be in doubt. Just hope a way can be found to disarm them without loss of lives. China looks to have the best levers to achieve this.

So the concensus on here seems to be that pre-emptive action by Trump against North Korea to stop further development of its nuclear capability would be justified? Trump is showing that he has no appetite for diplomacy - too slow and too difficult, just bomb the ****ers. In three short months he's taken the world closer to nuclear conflict than it has been for decades.

So you'd rather leave North Korea to it's quest to be able to deliver inter-continental nuclear missiles?

No, but I'd prefer that different methods were employed to stop them and I'd rather Trump stuck to building walls.

I would rather a peaceful solution was worked out too, as would everyone I would have thought.
What do you suggest and do think that the crack-pot in charge of North Korea would listen?

Dont forget guys, the US has defense treaty's with both South Korea and Japan and its feared that the new ballistic missile North Korea can reach the west coast of the US. Any crazy action by Kim will affect the US more than the UK.

So you have no sensible suggestions as an alternative to military firepower then.

Well it's seems the great dealmaker Trump isn't interested in it. Maybe picking fights around the world is a handy distraction from enquiries into his Russian links.
