I hope it wasn't "Taffy!"
I new a Welsh kid at school, and even the teachers used to call him Taffy. I never did; I was always respectful and called him Neville. That wasn't his name, but he seemed more like a "Neville" to me than an "Alexander" (which was his actual name).
We had quite a few Taff teachers.
They seem to gravitate towards teaching for some reason.
I remember our PE teacher was a Welsh former Royal Marine and predictably rugby mad.
He could be a bastard but never really gave me much stick as I always took part. Was a decent teacher tbf.
He told a mate of mine to "go and make friends with the trees" once.
Never let it down!
"Moron" he would say in your face from time to time.
