SC, you may also have had more important things on your mind!!
You're forgiven![]()
That's very kind of you. To which you refer is actually completely okay. The first six monthly passed without incident and the specialist was very happy, my wife is back to her normal self. Obviously the big worry is the three year period when you can get problems, if there are any, he told us that and with my wife's former career we knew that anyway.
Still no need for me to be so grumpy though - Saints aren't Newport County but at times I do find it wearing, especially after three unbelievable seasons. It sort of looks like 'revert to type' to these old eyes.
Hopefully I'm utterly wrong, as I usually am!![]()
Only 45 years? You're a bit of a Johnnie-come-lately then! You're obviously showing your age there or quickly Googled!
'Surprisingly funny' was normally my goalkeeping reports! Still there is a first time for everything but I feel I must apologise to the regulars for the nature of my posts this season but for some reason the whole campaign, even with the League Cup Final, has turned me into a cynical miseryguts. I've really lost a considerable amount of interest in football and even a bit in Saints this season.
It's be a long slog supporting them over 45 years and what for? 'Be happy, you're middle of the table and stop being arrogant', brilliant.![]()

I know Missing Lambo, Godders, and Beddytare and a few others go back further than I do, which is 22nd August 1966 (coincidentally the same match as TheSecondStain), but you're right, there's not many of us with longer memories than yours on this board as far as I know. I was teasing, honestly!I know there's quite a few longer than that - my brother being one as he is six years older than me and there's a few on here who can remember the Division Three South days but after that surely there's not many with memories that stretch back further - well not posting on here I would imagine.
First game was April 24th 1971 (so that's 46 years actually) Leeds United at home lost 3-0 and the crowd was given as 30,001. My brother said if I hadn't have gone it would have a been a nice round number! Mick Jones scored two and it was his birthday.
I was very young though and didn't go to lots of games after until I was a bit bigger and older - my parents weren't too happy to let me go even with my brother.

Ha ha - it's not a competition I wasn't worried. It's actually interesting to see who has a real long association with the club - I was 4 in 1966 so hats off to you and anyone who remembers the old Division Three South days are definitely in the 'legendary' bracket.
I used to work with an apprentice who asked me to check out if there was a bloke called 'Hoskins' who played for Saints because this chap of that name used his pub and used to go on about playing for Saints - I confirmed he wasn't a BS artist but a prolific goal scorer for a short while.
