Why , I thought the gesture was a good one and for the lads benefit, why is it more important that the media pick up on it ?
Quite obviously because it would be good publicity for the club - is that what you wanted someone to say? What's wrong with that? It does nothing to denigrate what would be a great gesture toward the lad and his family by our Malaysian owners. Having said that, I agree the publicity surrounding it would NOT be more important, just a bonus. Anyway, what the **** has it got to do with you jack?
You a-rse, read the whole post before posting a-rsewipe comments. No one has said publicity was more important.
The club have decided to make a gesture, great, if it attracts publicity so be it, if it doesn't well thats OK as well, its a football club showing it realises it's importance of it's status in the community, if this poor lad had connections (no matter how tenuous) with Swansea, Liverpool, Man City or indeed ANY other club, and the club made a supportive gesture, then surely this is a good thing and deserves to be publicised? Football gets enough bad press and surely accentuating the positives can only help? It doesn't matter which club makes a decent gesture, publicising it is a good thing............this is more about football and it's place in society than any individual club, and to turn it into an inter-club rivalry thing, well IMO thats just pathetic.
