Can't see it myself. Things can change, but as of right now I don't believe a bid has been tabled let alone accepted.
Rick has his end of season VOTV coming out for Southend game. No doubt he will invent...oops sorry...report something next week.
He will. Like one of the three bidders who originally agreed to match Uncle Roland's asking price, pulled out over the weekend due to 'serious historic concerns'.
So the 3 interested parties are from America, China and Ebbsfleet. Premier League Southampton, with their excellent squad, modern new stadium and brilliant Academy, is in the process of being sold to a Chinese company for £190m. How much is Charlton now really worth ? I reckon less than a tenth of that.
It doesn't smell like a takeover, it doesn't taste like a takeover and most importantly .... it doesn't feel like a takeover is imminent
Fair enough - but speaking to someone who wants to buy the club, they aren't aware of any significant change. It something is happening then great. I just hope we aren't being led down a dead end street.
Interesting post from Ed on CAFCPicks. He has put the Red Bull logo on the top of the site. The club have set up a 'Data Room' regarding three current (invited) tenders. Further details will be forthcoming. Discussed at the meeting held on Saturday, following my return from Belgium. Name change, playing strip change (White shirts/red shorts) and maybe even a ground change at some point. Success was deemed to be the most important goal.. Besides, Rick and his chums would have a simple alteration to change CARD to CARB. How do you feel about it?
Well. That sounds pretty daft. Cosmetic change to the kit for no reason ( when was the last time a team with a white/red strip won the league in England). And change ground? For what demonstrable reason?
Success should be the all important goal, but surely no prospective buyer can think all those changes will achieve it. Cardiff City owner backtracked on strip colour, and Hull City owners attempt at a name change failed miserably. They could change some aspects, but some of the stuff that gets out there is pure nonsense.
If the story of him being told the above is true, then you have to question the source. KM once fought off talk about a takeover with ''any prospective owner wants to sell the Valley''.
The only thing I know about the prospective takeover is that a data room has been set up at The Valley and a Lawyer is working in there. I was told that there have been three tenders from different parties. I have heard that one of the parties has dropped out. Whether a Takeover will happen or not happen , I have no way of knowing. But the wheels are in motion.
This is the main main point for me, what purpose would a new ground serve? It would cost a colossal amount of money and wouldn't even sell out.
