Something to keep us going during the boredom that is International Week. Four Saints in the England squad: Forster, Bertrand, Redmond and our own James Ward-Prowse. Sadly Manolo is out through injury after being called up for the first time for nearly two years. Other internationals are available. :)

He really really should be. Don't worry Oriol, we love you
TBH, if he was in the Spanish squad, he may well think his time had come where he could regularly be in the first eleven of a glamour club. So, thank you Mr Spain selector. Even though he strikes me as a very grounded player, you help to keep Oriol's feet on the ground for that little bit longer. And we get a player who knows he's got to improve if he wants to represent his country.

They tend to play with just the one holding midfielder (Busquets). But I'd say he warrants a place in the squad.

On the flip side, we don't want him thinking he needs to move clubs to get recognition. A distant squad all up with two minutes playing time would be fine!

I don't think there is that flip side, though you can never rule it out for his entire career. But all the words he has been quoted as saying speak of a person who loves being a player who definitely plays if fit.

It's the same thing that keeps Ryan Bertrand at Saints. And he's already the best England LB.
