Our bubble burst a few seasons back but for some unknown reason there used to be three whom found a way of making us look good.
The same old reason's will always hold us back until they finally succumb to old age.

Fyck you M.

Good to see ta back.

Burnley may be in the mix after Saturday or we will be almost beyond help
Bit negative - 3pts to the good onwards

If you have to finish above Burnley (31 points on the board and are nailed on to get a few more points in their home games to go) then you're ****ed.

Palace, Hull, Boro or maybe Swansea (though i doubt it). The field is narrowing pretty quickly but you only need 3 of them to slip.

Agree totally which is why I posted may but as we football fans know many unexpected things happen - but I did discount Burnley as a realistic rival in an earlier post - I reckon between us ,Hull, Boro Swansea and surprisingly Leicester - they,ll be distracted by their Europe success. I think(hope) the new manager impetus has gone from Hull and Swansea .
What about your feeder league wobbles though ?

If Huddersfield and Brighton finish above us then they'll deserve it.

We've got a very slight buffer but it wont hold up for long, the most any team has attained and yet failed to achieve automatic promotion with is around the 88 mark and I'm confident we'll beat that but suspect Brighton and Huddersfield will too - someone's going to be disappointed. If, as it should be, the top three teams went up it would be a non issue. We have rotated our team more than most and you would hope that would lead to fewer injuries but Huddersfield and Brighton just seem to have an indestructible group of players - oh well.

In 98 we got 90 and didn't go up at all,, behind Forest and Boro on 94 and 91. Charlton who finished 4th had 88.

Brighton are not going up, mark my words, they'll fall apart.

Ah thanks, I knew it was around that mark. At our current rate, despite our wobbles we've averaged 2.1 points per game and I'd be surprised if we didn't get into the mid-90's. Huddersfield are probably going to need 23+ points from their last 10 games to overtake us, they could do it though.

ps. Do you think top 3 should go up automatically - nothing to do with us, just generally?

Yes!

Yes, if/when we finish 3rd.
No, if/when we creep into 6th on the last day.
Guess most clubs would say the same. Start the season thinking there's 1st, 2nd place and 4 equal 3rds. no 4th/5th/6th,

All teams know the situation at the start of the season and it's not unfair on anyone as if you finish in a play-off place then you knew from the outset what to expect. So there's no excuses for the likes of us, 3rd isn't good enough. However, it's always felt wrong to me for it not to just be the top 3 - commercially it makes sense though (and it's not as stupid as the Rugby Union system).

I think the football season is over however many weeks and the first and second teams go through on what they accomplished over those weeks. Why then should the third place, who might only have missed out on second place on goal difference, then have to go through a play off with those who may be nowhere near on points. We have already fell foul on this and it peed me off then.

Seems straightforward doesn't it, three go down, three go up. But no. It's not like the premiership teams from third bottom to sixth bottom have a play off to decide who gets relegated so I don't see the logic the other way round.

Agree but for some reason Beneteze historically rotates his players but he is without doubt a top successful manager so its probably just a March wobble but..
