'inarticulate muppet' ? Is that a reasonable response to someone expressing a view on a fans forum of which you are laughingly an administrator ? Keep digging pal. You've overstepped the mark.

Could I just point something out and I know I should sit on the side lines and watch the fun unfold, but and please do not think I am taking sides, DICK LEXIC. I have a very mind form of dyslexia, spell checkers help me write everything. Even this paragraph took a couple of goes.

To lose your temper being called an 'inarticulate muppet' with a username Dick lextic, is quite frankly just you setting yourself up for a fall. When I saw your username the first thing I thought was... ****.

Apologies if the user name causes offence. That wasn't the intention.

He's a voluntary moderator on here, mostly does a good job (mostly...), and that does not stop him engaging in discussions as a normal member.

You seem a little sensitive tbh, and making threats is a little daft.

Grow some or stop using the forum.

you should try to be a little more sympathetic, dyslexia is a terrible thing - he's clearly spelt 'Head' as Lexic'

Thanks for the advice. I know what I'm doing thank you. Volunteer moderator or not there is no excuse for the personal insults of which he has history.

ENOUGH. Given the 'debate' it's hardly fair to expect OLM to moderate this thread. It'd look like bias which ever way he went.

I'm not getting involved in the personal battle here, I've bored people enough with that in the past, but I hope it shows this isn't just mods sticking together.

Dick Lexic, you've expressed your view and people now know your opinion, but it's going nowhere, so it's time to move on. <ok>

I owe a lot to my two nieces who I converted to city fans....They got me back to going to games away from home as did charlie 1 off this board also my great mac nurse ( a burnley fanatic ) who went way way above the call of duty and got me back to going to home games after not been out of my home for nearly 3 years.

Also you lot on here have ALL helped.

Also I am a stubborn bastard

Nothing wrong with having time away

    Kids
    Family
    Work
    Location
    Health
    Money

Lots of reasons why people have time away

I think there is a difference between 'the best' and the 'most successful' measured against a set of criteria. People do of course have to agree the criteria used before a comparison can be made. I agree SB did not always use the money well and I feel his squads as a whole underperformed (or are my expectations too high). I would add Terry Neil into that list who so nearly took us into the old division 1.

The thing about tripling the debt is the owners have to take responsibility. They sanction the spend. A bit like Leicester fans hating Peter Taylor for what he did to them. At the end of the day anyone following Martin O'Neill at Leicester was always going to be up against it. Bit like following Fergie but on a smaller scale. They blame Taylor for wasting millions. But the board sanctioned the spend in the hope it would keep the good times rolling. It nearly did but hey ho we all know luck or fate plays a part.

I was also torn between stopping going and seeing what difference he made. Truth is his football brain was a few weeks in front of our squad. I remember him playing the ball into a space on the rhs kicking away from Bunkers and the city player who should have been moving towards the space just looked at him. I thought from that day we were ****ed. We were.

Orient 4 City 5, never to be forgotten.

**** Barca taking 97 mins to come back from 4-0.(to be fair is was PSG and not Orient!)
City were losing 4-1 with about 25 mins to go.
Never seen City fans celebrate a goal like when that 5th went in.

I always think Brian Horton should get a mention in these discussions having been involved in two of our successful periods.
When reviewing Brucie I think we also need to take into account what he was battling against behind the scenes and having to keep the owners and fans happy. Winning at Wembley should not be under rated given the toxic goings on and the lack of support on the day.
