All true but the size of the club in those particular surroundings we found ourselves in meant we could attract 15,000 to 20,000 when needed and no other club in that league at the time could get any where near those figures. That is my point.

You're not wrong, when I moved to London my priorities were money, clubbing and girls. I stopped supporting City, but I didn't stop being a City fan.

I appreciate that there are many people who have unbroken support for many years, far better than my record, but then I never claimed otherwise.

It's rather bizarre, that twenty years after returning and doing most games home and away, some think my period of non-attendance remains a stick to beat me with.

That is a personal insult.
Where as I was simply stating a fact which you have just verified as true.

Cardiff got 10,000 at Ninian Park for the South Wales derby. We attracted 13,000 once that season, after a plea from other supporters who rallied around to get some coin into the club. We were one of the teams who couldn't get anywhere near those figures.

The size of the club was nowhere near Swansea, for example, who had been in the First Division just a decade earlier.

I stopped supporting City, in that I stopped attending games. I remained a City fan, as they were still my team and I still followed the club and their results.

I don't retract the inarticulate muppet remark, as it's entirely accurate.

In fact, it's probably the most flattering thing I could come up with.

It may seem 'bizarre' to you, but your London years coincided with our worst ever years, and your 're-engagement' coincided with the building of the KC stadium.
Some people might be forgiven for thinking that events have fallen 'kindly' for you in terms of supporting the club.
That's all.

Not digging you out here but find it 'bizarre' that you never attended City games when you were living down there. They were always an exiles day out, even for people who were not bona fide City fans just people living down there who enjoyed an afternoon in the company of fellow citizens tired of the turds down there.
Some cracking days out at Brentford, Fulham, Orient and even Millwall in the 80s/90s.

<laugh> I can't believe anyone seriously thinks I based my career decisions on how well (or badly) Hull City were doing, but whatever.
