Ruled himself out of a game with flu & clearly upset Jose......who never forgets things like that apparently. <yikes>
He has looked good, but also got caught out with a few positional errors early on. I don't think JM fully trusts him.

He's preferred to trust Darmian (naturally a right back) at left back rather than Shaw.

Darmian is actually not at all bad at LB though. I think he's played for Italy in that position before. In the meantime, Shaw's career stagnates even more. This is where potentially great English youngsters go - into the reserve ranks at big clubs. He'll end up at WBA.

He needs to notice Ryan Bertrand, who has gone past him in terms of effectiveness. Still, he's 21. He can go much lower than being left out at ManU.

I forgot about Shaw, shows how little we've seen of him at Man Utd. Seems like a waste of talent.
He always needed nurturing at Saints....was getting kidded about how often he spoke to Nicola (though some was because his school work was behind). He will have grown up since then, but he was the wrong sort of lad to be thrown into the lion's den of Old Trafford. Need some experience of life's ups and downs to cope with that.

I saw John Terry being interviewed by Steve Gerrard on some Youtube channel recently. Terry said that Mourinho would walk right past anyone on the treatment table and completely blank them. If you were injured you didn't exist, until you were fit again. Terry didn't really know why he did that either, if it was supposed to motivate the player to speed his own recovery, or if it was something else. It might go some way to explaining how he lost the dressing room at Chelsea anyway.
