Surely every away game at Newcastle, Sunderland and the Boro since 1968 must count for something! Plus all the Northern Div 1 aways. Carlisle is a long way from Southampton. {2 hours from home}. # clutching at straws. Look at me using # like I'm hip and cool.
If it makes Wednesday my friend in the Irish supporters club is going to look after me. It's the hope that kills ya though!
Close but no cigar. I was using proper grammar, like old fashioned writing. Cool and grandad just don't go together.
I wouldn't bother for the EFL Cup to be honest. Much as I wanted a Wembley trip and a major cup final, an EFL Cup win doesn't quite warrant an open top bus celebration IMO.
Haven't we still got the bus from the 76 final? I'm sure I saw it outside St Marys at the end of last season. With Lawrie Mac and Jim Steele on it as I recall, plus a few others.
When you have one, you want the whole city to come out and watch, like Leicester last season, or (I'm assuming) in 76 when we won the FA Cup. I'm not convinced that would happen with the EFL Cup.
Even I would drag my carcass over to Southampton for that and I hate crowds. I'd want to see it because I missed '76 and it may be my last chance.
Me too. Being a poor student in Bristol in '76, I wasn't able to get to Wembley or to Southampton to cheer the boys home. I will make damn sure I don't miss out this time, should the result be favourable.
