If asked to describe Mr Henderson using a 5 letter word, first letter ‘C’ and second letter ‘H’, I’m sure every single member would holler, CHAMP. How fitting then that the great man gives a debut of the morrow to a beast monikered with that very word at Southwell (2.35).

Champ is wonderfully bred for the game being by King’s Theatre and his dam is a half-sister to triple Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate. The Geraghty chap is also going to the course, not to build sandcastles, but for this one ride.

Champ, ladies and gentlemen, is rumoured to be good. Very good.

Anyone know anything about trainer D Steele?

    Has 3 runners tomorrow:
    Ling 3.00 according to them
    Ling 4.30 landscape
    Wolves 3.20 pulsating

All seem to be getting heavily backed with less than convincing form figures.....

Major plot or bookies trying to suck people in??

He also owns horses with Sheena West... and they were in that amazing gamble.

That was the dodgy one where they all flopped??
Sounds like the bookies trying their luck again??

Sheena West and Daniel Steele rarely leave the money behind...oh wait <yikes>

I'd nearly offer the full 120/1 or whatever the treble pays on one winner tbh.

Landscape in the 4.30 is one of the horses that was part of the west gamble

Perhaps. I wish them well really. Be nice if they did pull it off if it's genuine but I'm more than happy to watch it unfold than be involved.

I don't mind throwing a few quid on it, still pays just over 100/1. However for some reason I'm only being allowed to do singles and no treble.

Barney, I'm pretty sure it should be CHIMP. If you remember the 1980s John Lithgow film Bigfoot and the Hendersons, it all falls into place.
Rejigged and Americanised as a children's fantasy, it's actually a true story based on the Henderson family finding (and subsequently adopting) a strange Yeti-like creature while driving through the inhospitable jungle around Lambourn.

Check out the stills from the film, and it becomes obvious: the vacuous grin, the yellow chest-fur photoshopped these days into a pullover.....all that said, I'm getting the same rumours as you and I expect him to win, probably at a silly price. There's some 10/11 around at the moment at the seedier end of the village (i.e. Betfair Sportsbook).

So apparently The trainer has come out and said the gamble has nothing to do with him and also LANDSCAPE won't run as he apparently scoped dirty this afternoon! So at best he will have one winner!! And it won't be at Lingfield :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Not tips these but having had a good look at the bumpers I thought I might highlight some interesting outsiders. Trouble is they all hail from yards with pretty hopeless bumper records;
    Lingfield 1.50
WRONG IMPRESSION; Dam has bred a number of winners including the decidedly useful Tarablaze.
THEATRE ROYALE; Half sister to the decent Theatre Act
    Southwell 2.00
NAASIK; Picked up at Goffs sale in August for 2,000gns having previously cost Shadwell 140,000gns and is a half brother to Shimraan who won a group 2 in France
    Southwell 2.35
BURY THE EVIDENCE; Half sister to the very smart Killala Quay who won his bumper.

Would be interested in having at paddock look at these.

    2 10 Wolves - Intense Starlet 20/1
    2 45 Wolves - Fossa 16/1

About time both got back to winning ways, long overdue
