We do.

Having said that then perhaps someone can offer a link to something more than hearsay about this emailed contract. But first a few questions:

1. Had the player asked for an updated contract?
2. What was his sttitude like
3. When was it sent / what was everyones availability.
4. Just how involved was the player, oor was it led by his agent?
5. Wouldn't a proposed contract be sent by email for first scrutiny?
6. Do any of us really have rnough fscts to be judging?

His agent was emailed a new contract with no discussion and no offer of any meeting, there is no link to prove this, but it is absolutely true.

Bruce is fit now by his own words, and Luer and Lenihan can hardly be counted as first team players who are injured.

Just stating the players that are injured. With the threadbare team we had for the first half of the season had Luer or Lenihan been fit I am sure they would have been thrown in there, just like Tymon and Bowen.

CityCalv or whatever his name is didn't want us to sign players before Snodgrass was sold. That's no longer an issue.

And yet...
PAYET SITUATION UPDATE

Sky sources: A senior source involved in the negotiations between West Ham and Marseille for Dimitri Payet says a deal is still "miles away".

Marseille have been hoping that West Ham's £10.2m signing of Robert Snodgrass today would open the door for Payet's departure.

However, there has been no significant breakthrough in negotiations so far today.

West Ham still want at least £30m and Marseille have indicated that they will not pay more than £25m.

As well as a difference of opinion on Payet's value, there are significant differences of opinion between the parties on how any potential deal should be structured.

We're told "as long as the window is open it's possible that the deal will be done but at the moment it's still miles away".

Payet has been training with West Ham's Under 23 squad. As expected, he did not play in their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa this evening.

What am I missing here?

They may potential end up with a disgruntled Payet costing them £125k a week and have to play for Snodgrass on top.

Or they suck it up and take 25m, which if Snodgrass is the replacement they've still made a profit from?

The equivalent would be us wanting 15m from West Ham, them only offering us 10m, so we go out and buy a 5m replacement. We could still sell Snodgrass for 10m if we got desperate for it to go through.

When three clubs have submitted bids.. <doh> If all three are happy to pay 10m for him then we should be considering the fact that perhaps we're not asking for enough.

Or they need him and they know they must then factor in escalating private terms i.e. thw whole life cost of the deal.
