And. for some bizarre and unacceptable reason, failing / refusing to learn from previous (and very recent) mistakes
I just think he has had more than enough chances to prove himself and under 3 different manages still couldn't become a permanent first team choice. If he moves I wish him well, but if we sell him I wouldn't be too disappointed.
Looks like the Zeegelaar deal is off as well - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...umours_marvin_zeegelaar_deal_is_off_1_4863492. I guess we're just not an attractive proposition just now, having lost SOOO many games in recent months and I'm beginning to wonder if we will succeed in signing/offloading anyone.
Have we scared off all the left backs yet? How low will we have to go to find some one despirate enough to join us? Most rats rUn off the sinking ship not on Bah!
Great stuff. These guys must be told we won't tolerate bad English. I've learnt such a lot, my grammer used to be awful, now it's exemplery. Thank you.
I think most of us realised that the Zeegelaar transfer wasn't going to happen for a team in 10th place in Championship. So, where to next?Have we got more irons in the fire or do the Board just make do and mend? The Brady saga rumbles on and the fact that we have got absolutely nowhere in the transfer market indicates that target players do no feel sufficiently confident of the team making any progress.
Interesting quote on twitter from Robin Sainty. Robin Sainty@RobinNCST So potential signings appear to see the club as the fans see it, not the fantasy version that the board are clinging to..
Zeegelaar saying no is disappointing to be sure, but we've been through all this before with the likes of Toivonen and van Dijk. If the club had gone for the Bradford or Fleetwood LBs from the start, they'd be accused of going for the 'cheap option'. I can understand Zeegelaar and van Dijk also saying no to a gamble about their own careers, especially to a team in the second tier, but for me the fact that we tried does show that we're being ambitious. It didn't come off, but it was right to try.
It's right to be ambitious and try but a bit of a slap in the cake hole when potential targets look at us and say no thank you. I suppose an ambitious bid for Leighton Baines is out of the question ?
Good point Rick and at least van Dijk flew over for talks. Much more likely that we'll end up with 'the cheap' option, but we DO need to get cover in at LB, as it's too big a risk to play Whittaker there again!!
Maybe the board should stop having any more delusions of grandeur (because they can't / won't bloody well fund them ) and cut their cloth accordingly-stick to Fleetwood and Bradford, for example?
