There will also be a statement saying something like "we don't need to bring anyone in and I am happy to, go with what we've got".
That was what happened in the Premier League season, when he declared he was quite happy with Bassong, Bennett, Martin and Turner as central defenders - the history books, however, tell a different story :(

What you have to do is look at the PL teams, probably bottom half and come up with a list of players that are not playing regularly.

Like Jordan Rhodes etc......

That are a little bit bored and fancy playing a few games of football. They don't tend to care that much though as they will just go back to their clubs whatever happens to NCFC.

We need somebody prepared to graft, sweat, work hard for the team.
Anyone know what Antoine Sibierski is up to these days? :emoticon-0112-wonde <whistle>

This means "everyone we have approached has either turned us down or we've tried to be cheap skates and I'm stuck with Whittaker and co".

You are in a dark place at the moment Kemp.:emoticon-0106-cryin

I'm sorry.

I have seen countless disastrous, disorganised and frankly absurd transfer windows.

I have paid my money for years and to be fair I have seen some good times, mainly under Lambert and at the beginning AN. Wembley for example and the playoffs.

Lambert always got the best out of the players, loan or permanent and got average players playing out of their skin for the shirt and city. I miss that, a lot.

It seems that getting paid an horrendous amount of money is no longer enough. The players have to "feel" 100%. What the hell is going on? You put the shirt on and try your best. That's written into the constitution of the club, every club. It demands it at the very least.

The fans are fleeced and I do still have hope for this window, that largely is what drives football fans, hope.

This hope is getting more and more diminished as modern "football" evolves and the greed increases.

It might just be that its not something that we hear about but in the last 5 years we've had a fair few players turn us down when all appears rosey. A player must be interested to some degree to fly over and take a look around the club. Its then worrying that these players don't want to commit to the club. Are we doing something wrong? Its great that these players come out and say how such nice things about us after but it does make me wonder about our approach to finalising deals.

Maybe Alex Neil was worried that Dijk may improve our defense and he would lose out on his generous failure bonus ?.
He probably winked at the player and pinched his arse when nobody was looking.

If he did, I think Dijk probably liked it. From an earlier article:

However, the 6'4" Dutchman now appears to have decided to stay in his homeland - despite being impressed by Norwich manager Alex Neil.

"The trainer (Alex Neil) had a good story, but ultimately Mitchell still has not decided to opt for Norwich City

It was probably Delia's sherry breath that put him off, that or Moxey's wet lettuce hand shake

Bah!

Alex Neil's story by Alex Neil
There once was a man that got paid to manage a football club, no matter what he did he just couldn't get his team to win.
He tried all sorts of formations 4-5-1 4-2-3-1 both of them .
He persisted with players that couldn't score or defend he froze out others but in the end his team were relegated.
The grumpy Scotsman thought he may be sacked and have to go back to his homeland with his tail between his legs but no.
Edward Balls the court jester took him to one side and offered him a new deal , a deal where he would be guaranteed a cash payment of one million pounds in gold coins if he gets fired.
This seemed bizzare to Alex "They pay me for failure " wow .
So ever since that day he has tried his best to lose the players fans owners and his job.
This is just a cruel trick played on him by the wicked old witch and rather than reward him for failure she intends to keep him captive for 10 years no matter how badly he manages her club.
The Royal board Sir Jizz Mockney the young Prince Smith and The Queen Mother cackle and shriek with laughter at the hapless Scot from their royal box on match days.

Do you think Neil gets a million pound bonus for gaining promotion?

I think he gets a multimillion pound bonus if he gets us promoted, if keeps doing well he gets a bigger job, more money. Many millions over his career. He fails he gets sacked gets a million, he then manages a smaller club, maybe fades into obscurity never to see serious wedge again.
Hmm mm I'm sure he wants that pay off real bad!

Bah!
