Massive exaggeration, a great game. He made one great save, no denying, had his feet in concrete (again) with Rojo's header, unlucky with the goal... other than that.. he had nothing to do... he must have been the coldest player on the pitch.

Were De Gea's feet in concrete with Niasse's header too? Twice Marshall showed good anticipation and speed in a sweeper role behind the centre backs.
Not a great but a competent game doing his bit for the team.

New here, but a supporter for many, many years. I'm so happy with that performance and the result. Obviously I'm disappointed that we played so well and didn't get anything from it, but wow. Marco Silva will keep us in the Premier League.

Welcome to the board mate. I agree the performance was great. Early days yet but Marco does seem like a quality manager so far.

Well I looked like an idiot. When I saw that team I was ranting and raving about us throwing away our first chance of getting to a League Cup final. How wrong could I be.

For the first time in a while I thought we had a system that everyone knew and understood what their roles are. Every single player can be proud of that performance last night, they gave it everything and you really can't ask for more. We got a bit lucky with the penalty (So Soft), but we deserved the luck due to how we controlled the game. We made a full strength United team look average.

Imagine what Silva could do if he was given 20 million to spend? I disagree with letting Snodgrass and Livermore go but Silva just breeds confidence and you think if he was given that money he could build some seriously good.

Will we stay up? Depends on what we do in the next 5 days, but I am starting to believe. I just hope this positivity lasts and It doesn't become like it did these last 5 months where I couldn't give a crap about the football.

Thank God we get some good posts on here once the bad boys have passed out! Maloney has looked good to me in the little I've been able to see of him. Brilliant performance by ALL the lads today, from what I've read and from my son who watched it on BEIN. I don't have that channel, dammit!
I think Maloney could genuinely have a part to play in the second half of the season. He is a player that could thrive under Silva as he very much suits his style of play. I thought tonight the main positive from Maloney was his desire to get on the ball at all times, he never went missing like some players do and was always making himself available with quick intelligent runs.
