I understand it fine. No one was to blame. Understand what the word blame is. Also understand that this isn't the ****ing situation to debate the nuances of the English language. <doh>

I think people have now had enough time to pass on their goodwill messages and this thread should now be closed.

Formal updates will be published on the appropriate sites which users should access as they see fit rather than all scrambling to cut and paste information onto here so they can be seen as the first to reveal the news.

The only thing I agree with you on is that this isn't the time or place to correct your ignorance, don't expect another response.

I am no apologist for Cahill, but do wish the lad well. I've watched the incident back and how anyone could suggest it was his fault, hand on heart I don't know. He was assertively looking to get a strong head on the ball in a legitimate attacking opportunity. Mason's glancing header and turn of head couldn't have been predicted. Both lads deserve our best wishes. Ryan's immediate future is our primary concern but Cahill should also be supported and helped to get over this.

It's a contact sport and there's a risk these sort of things will happen. I remember Ryan Shawcross getting loads of grief after he broke Aaron Ramsey's leg after a reckless 50/50 challenge. He was visibly upset when it happened and was close to tears when he realised the state Ramsey was in.

Cahill went for a 50/50 header and Mason's come out of it with a very nasty injury but Cahill doesn't deserve grief for it.

If the opponent is looking at the ball and someone comes in to head it and misses! And not only misses the ball but heads the other player then it's a foul! Tha same as a tackle! It wasn't intentional but it's still a foul!

He's not getting grief but it's still a foul if he misses the ball!

It's a foul but it's not malicious. I've seen and heard people demanding Cahill be banned from playing football and deserving of jail time. Like I said, it's a contact sport. It's not like he sunk his teeth into a player on three separate occasions off the ball.

Has there been any update to his condition this morning?
I guess there is not, just monitoring him for swelling/bleeding

It was a foul that's all! But anywhere else on the pitch with a mistimed tackle it would have been pulled up!

Why are you getting so animated? I agreed that it was a foul; our players foul all the time and get booked for it. Aerial challenges are treated more leniently ground tackles.
