Ehab can only dream of having 4 inches!!
hes asking for 4 or 5 inches?!![]()
As in " away in "??ehab said he likes long term:
we have a manger here for 6 months
he' signing players on loan
sold a player who was contracted long term (over 6 months)
So im not sure his definition of long term is correct
I'm not, I'm stating facts. Ehab is an absolute tool but in him saying we aren't a selling club, he's correct we aren't. And regarding this transfer window, it was always going to take time to get players because MS had to assess what we had first before he knew what we needed. Again just facts. Why are you excusing how **** the owner is?
Normally 'selling club' refers to a club that regularly sells off its biggest assets, or a club which regularly manages to buy low and sell high and we've been neither of those under the Allams. The concern with many, is that this is no longer the case, but we'll find out in under two weeks.
Okay thanks for responding; I agree with your straightforward view of what a selling club is. I also agree that our club has always been a long way from being a selling club, just as EA said - one of the few things he has said I agree with.
At any time, with any owner, we must always be wary of what the future holds, history has taught us that.
It sounds like a cracking 4.5yr deal for Jake. I very much doubt he has gone kicking and screaming, so good luck to him we stuck by him and I think he paid that back - time to move on.
I see we've also brought the RB in who looks decent, although I don't know the score on his fitness.
We have had a lopsided squad for nearly two seasons, OLM, and I can see why Silva is trying to sort it. We have much more attacking potential and looking to add alternatives to our defence. I would imagine Jake wasn't the first player Silva wanted away, but he was the one someone wanted for a decent return.
I just hope people don't label us a selling club, simply because we sold a player of value to fund rebuilding a badly bought squad.
I think he's asking the wrong man.hes asking for 4 or 5 inches?!![]()

I admire his ambition.
**Edit** You'll struggle to buy a replacement that brings as much to the team as Livermore for £10m.
The bold bit is really all that matters here.
It really isn't.
If you have other players who do a good job and you can adequately cover any positions Jake might play, then you would, perhaps, be considered astute if you sell that one player and bring in another player(s) for positions where you cannot adequately cover any positions and you have no cover. We definitely fall into that scenario, so let's see how astute Silva is.
Silva's words at the press conference appear to mark as "bollocks" the suggestions that Jake wasn't part of his plans, the money was needed so we'll be able to fill other positions & we have adequate cover in that area.
His words appear to suggest we seized the opportunity to cash in on one of our better assets, as selling clubs do.
We haven't been a selling club at all
Whether we become one we'll know by the end of this window
...actually "selling club" is an irrelevant term...what I really mean is that we'll know whether Ehab is cutting his losses and trying to get as much cash paid back from his loan by letting expensive assets go, and by taking out loans to pay some back too. No idea whether that is the case or now, but we'll know soon enough.
I think they are in a much worse position then us! They have a manager who isn't cutting it. They have a squad that isn't cutting it and now appear to be accepting that good enough change isn't going to happen!Sunderland manager David Moyes says any new signings will struggle to make a significant impact on his team's fortunes after admitting his transfer budget is "limited with a big L"...

Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham
Telling stuff from Marco Silva on the sale of Jake Livermore today. "It was important to get the funds. We don't have a big budget."
How does that work? You must have put a lot on to be profiting that much when our odds to go down would have increased rather than decreased. Unless you mean you put it on months ago?
That was my thoughts.WE knew we didn't have a big budget, didn't we? We knew we needed attack and defense, as a minimum; didn't we? We knew we would have to sell, didn't we? So no scoop here then.![]()
