During the international break, it's nothing but off topic threads about *shudder* cycling and (perhaps worse) cricket. Threads aren't usually separated in January, there isn't usually enough action to warrant it.

You'll notice that most of the signings we make have never played in the Premier League. Even at a side in the relegation zone, if you play well enough you'll get spotted and go somewhere else. That's what most of these lads will be thinking, they won't be joining us because we're Hull City, they're coming to showcase their talents. If it keeps us up, then fine.

The offtopic threads don't get consolidated much at all, while football threads are very enthusiastically merged however necessary or not. So people just end up chatting in what ends up being the general Hull City thread, like all the Alex Bruce talk in this one.

All the more reason then to keep people with English top tier experience in your side.

There is also the assertion in the YP piece that he doesn't think short term <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>. Don't panic Mr. Silva. Maybe a new nickname for Rehab? 'Jonesey'

I have never been able to understand why Ehab is so dilatory and slow. He knows we need immediate investment in the squad and the quicker the better as we then have them for more games and they can settle in the area quicker.

But instead he drags his heels but then invests in the squad anyway. For example in summer. Why not get the deals done early rather than wait last minute.

Because he's incompetent?

Yes something we all thought was the case. We have to sell to be able to loan. What a ****ing state this club is in. Thanks Rehab.
Nope we didn't all think and quite a few still don't. This I imagine was always going to be a loan and have no doubt MS will spend the money made available from the Livermore sale on the players he want's to spend it on.

It's the 20th of January, it's not last minute

Am I completely missing something. 'We have to sell in order to buy' because we don't have a big budget.

What about money for promotion, parachute payments, the mass amounts of money for being in the premier league, gates receipts, merchandise, sponsorships.

We must have the smallest wage budget in the league.

Where is all the money going? Ehab's back pocket?

When you desperately need players because you have barely got any fits ones and a tiny squad whilst in a relegation battle with games coming up every week. Then the 20th January is last minute. Additionally. We have only made 2/3 signings so far after losing a player.

It was known in October, November, December that we needed players in January.

I think its because he is...mentally slow that is ...see it in business everyday...some people just happen to get jobs which require strategic thinking combined with the ability to make quick decisions. He clearly can't hack it.

The inability to plan is also a big factor....especially if you're using crayons!

We didn't have a new manager in October, November or December though! Marco was always going to need time to take a look at the squad and then make decisions about where he needed new players. Also signing a player isn't just a case of ringing a club up and saying 'right we are signing him' Quite a bit of work goes into it I imagine.
