Could it be because we have reinvested the cash where possible? You would have to think most the incoming money we got last summer went straight into covering the wage bill.
Complaining that we haven't reduced the debt after in the same breath going on about hoping we reinvest most if not all of the money from Jake's sale - and being pissed at the thought of the Allam's pocketing it is disingenuous.
Agree, as long as the reinvestment isn't on another bloody goalkeeper! Jake has been good for us for what he gives to the engine room, but no goals in him. However, if Silva can't get his players in on loan & has to sell to buy, we know we are in dire need of a right back and pacey wingers which will improve us and something has to give. If we can get at least the figure mentioned for Livermore, it would be good business for a player we thought of having to write off a couple of years ago for nothing, and in an area where we have good cover for the style of Marco's play, Hudd & Mason playing brilliant at the moment, long may it continue, Evandro & Clucas also in that area. I would prefer to sell the fringe players, Meyler, Bruce, Maloney etc., but they are not going to generate the funds required. Just hoping Spurs are not due any sell on fee/claw back.
If all our players were really worth what our fans think they are every time they get linked with someone , we would be 6 points clear at the top .... I like Livermore , truth is there are probably players with similar abilities in foreign leagues for half his fee , just have to hope we have found one
£40m is the amount that Assem says he had to put in to turn things around, the actual debt when he took over was about half that.
For the record i'm against selling one of best players for a pittance in return for some nomark player from Porto or wherever.
Jake imho lived far too much in the shadow of the Hudd, a good midfield player, but I think he never lived up to his full potential, at times he use to drive me mad after winning the ball in a good position first think he do was look for Hudd no matter were he was on the pitch, if he does go as it would appear he will, I wish all the best.
Sadly it looks like Jake is on his way, I for one will be very sorry to see him go and wish him well. On a positive note we managed admirably without him against The Cherries and are pretty well covered in his positions barring a plethora of injuries in those areas.
