Vieira - who was born in Guinea-Bissau but was raised in Portugal - moved to England in 2011. In 2015, he signed for Leeds United's academy and within a year was playing for the first-team, quickly becoming a key part of Garry Monk's plans.
But, according to Simon Collins - who has worked for Leeds and Manchester City in the past - Hull City and Leeds' Championship rivals Barnsley were given the chance to sign the youngster after City had said no and before he came to Thorp Arch, but both turned him down.

I havent checked but I'd guess I didn't champion signing a keeper after Bruce left.
HDM reckons we will sign two before the Chelsea game, although haven't given any definitive names. They mention Van der Wiel and the rb from Olympiakos as possibles.

Van der Wiel maybe a non starter his club want a permanent transfer, we are after loaning him, plus he's on mega wages .
He has played for Legia Warsaw and in European competition. Yes, really. Fine as a number 2.
We'll never see Kuciak again, he'll be gone by the end of the month..
I don't expect we'll ever see Johan Ter Horst again either.
And you say that with such authority despite probably never seeing him play.
I'd be amazed if we really do have anyone in that quickly. Even once it gets to the stage where they're obviously definitely coming, it always takes us ages to get everything tied up and confirmed.
It's worth signing Omar Elabdellaoui, just to hear Swanny try and pronounce it.
