Does anyone know what it costs to put scaffolding up and take it down as compared to the cost of hire in the period in between? Joe? Presumably the mathematical principles are similar here.

Virtually all the money is in the erection and dismantling phase. i.e. I had the front of the house scaffolded this summer for a fixed price for 4 weeks and despite finishing in three weeks the scaffolder left it for a further 3 weeks (for free) because he was too busy to take it down. His explanation was that he has to pay people to take it up and down but there is no cost in leaving it there because he owns the scaffolding. Presume the same is true for the seats with the only complication being if someone else wants then- though I suggest this is unlikely in Jan/Feb.
You would think that there would be a daily/weekly rental charge.....so if your right Lindy....and we beat Liverpool....it might stay for Wolves and Exeter ?
Some companies will give you the scaffold on a fixed term, then after say 4-6 weeks charge you a weekly sum. Depending on the size of the job.
We use a company, so no extra charges. But surely Argyle has sponsons LTC one of the biggest scaffolding companies and hie companies for platforms in Devon.. I would reckon they could do a deal. What company are they using? They dont charge to take it down, as most leave it up to save storage space and costs, when its needed they remove it or when the customer moans..

Ah, that would be me then (the moaning customer)-by that logic I should have charged him for using my land to store his scaffold on!
Yes Lyndhurst, you should charge the,. They are quick enough to put it up and take the cash, when it comes to taking it down.. a different matter. It is annoying, as i get our customers on to me to get it taken down, i don't pay them now until its taken down. They soon come along then..

A judges decision in Scotland has ruled that David Goodwillie (and his Friend) are guilty of rape in a private case brought by the women concerned.
There has been no official court case brought over the matter...just a private case by the women which has deemed that a fine of £100,000 is payable.
This decision has been noted by PAFC,and at the moment Goodwillie will not be picked for selection.....the player will possible be taking action to reverse that ruling.
This of course leaves Argyle rather thin in attacking options....ironically this comes directly after Goodwillie has scored his first goal for Argyle and means he will not be available for Wednesdays Liverpool replay.....in the meanwhile Liverpool shuffle their endless pack of players to find a winning formula for winning the replay.

I'm afraid this is very dubious. If the matter has been investigated by the police and no action taken, then that should be the end of the story.
Scottish law is a bit different to English. From what I can gather he hasn't been found 'guilty' of anything i.e. there was no no criminal trial as the CPS didn't/couldn't take it to court as they didn't have a strong enough case. This was a civil claim for damages , which attracts a lower burden of proof -i.e. 'balance of probabilities' as opposed to 'beyond all reasonable doubt'. I have no doubt that something happened in that flat, but whether it was a criminal act who knows? I think I am right in saying that he won't even have a criminal record or be required to sign the sex offenders register. So where does this leave Argyle and DG for an incident that happened six years ago?.
They may struggle/not want to sack him, but equally they may see it as bringing the club into disrepute. Either way, I think they will either be on dodgy grounds legally or alienate a section of fans. My guess is that he wont play for us again and they will just let his contract run out. tbh I am not too bothered either way.

My opinion on Goodwillie is get rid. Sorry but I'm not prepared to have the club dragged down by him name wise and he was found to have raped a woman even if the thing was probably rather than nailed on. There are plenty of cases where people get off charges due to a technicality where most people have thought they were guilty. This is one where it has sort of been reversed. There will be the usual appologists who say she was at fault for getting that drunk and then going to the flat in the first place but that is not an invitation to have sex with anyone. The other one is she knew what she was letting herself in for. That isn't an excuse either even if the woman was naive. This case is not going to do Argyle any favours for sure. I don't know the ins and outs of the case but if a Judge has heard it and alll the available evidence and thinks he is guilty then who am I to argue.
Watched that match as well Plym. I thought Ipswich were terrible and the best team won it. It was a bit of a crap match and I didn't want extra time for the bore factor. It wasn't as if Lincoln were extra special either but it would have been a bit of a travesty is they had lost. Good on them.

Well if it was known about then he should never have been signed in the first place however long ago it was. We don't need the hassle.
Just been checking out the latest Mayflower terrace seating (GoS)....nearly complete....looks pretty impressive.....why can't it stay....lacking cover from the weather but what a difference it makes to the terracing.....spectators nearer the pitch and the chance to wind up the away dug-out....all pressure building for an away side......why hasn't it been done before to get rid of that terrible empty run down view......I expect the answer is money, as always.
I think the point about having McCormick AND Goodwillie on the books is a good one unfortunately, even though there are partially extenuating circumstances in each case.
