Saints unfortunate in one sense as they played well and were more positive in shooting and getting players forward than they have been recently.

But, unfortunately same old story we didn't score away again.

People can complain about the goal we conceded but these things happen and if you are scoring enough, then no one notices.

One positive from today, is those moaning about too much rotation being the root cause of our problems can now shut up (well, find something else to moan about)

Didn't think we played too badly ... just didn't take our chances again!!! Their keeper made some decent saves (again, always against us)

Well I'm not actually THAT disappointed.

I always kinda expected defeat today. They're great at home and we're poor away. Plus, we know ourselves when your fighting relegation, your home games against midtable teams are ones you almost certainly want to win.

Really like Dyche, so up they stay up.
We are the ones looking up at them now!

Another poor performance; Sims should get more playing time; has the confidence of youth to try to be creative and not play the conservative square pass.

We stagger on...

We're a bit fortunate that the bottom of the table is so dire; in most seasons, 24 from 21 would have us looking nervously over our shoulder, but we still have a sizable cushion. Gotta turn it around soon however, because we're a couple good spells from the bottom feeders away from being in a bit of bother.

I still think that there is no way we'll go down, but I am now starting to change my view that the board will sail through this window without doing anything in the attacking areas. I think they might just be scared into doing something now, almost.

I dont think its the players per se. I think its the tactics that are the problem. Getting a creative midfielder is not going to solve the problem

60% possession, twice as many attempts, lose the game. It`s a bit of trend. In other news, Norwich lose at Rotherham, so pressure on them.

Just so so so frustrating. We don't look like a bad side in many ways, but there is always that feeling that as the game goes on we'll get picked off.

And I don't think any team can complain when that happens to them, with the score at 0-0. Totally and utterly irrelevant how well any side plays; when they score is 0-0 you are always one kick away from losing.

The most disappointing thing for me is that no one at the club seems to be acknowledging where the blatantly obvious holes are in the team. Now I know they "see the players more than us" and "know more than us" but none of that matters when on the football pitch we aren't getting results. The 70% possession doesn't matter when we keep losing games. We need more creativity in the final 3rd and unless we bring that in, or change something around tactically, these 1-0 defeats will keep coming.

No meltdown from me, as I said earlier the win midweek was fantastic, we were brilliant, and I wasn't expecting a romping win here, but I would really like some movement from the board sooner rather than later with regards to an incoming. I don't think we'll be relegated, but we are slipping rather horribly down the table.

You cant say that re rotation after just 2 games of the same ish team

I do really admire people's optimism on here. But to me it's been clear from day one that Puel is out of his depth at Saints. Criminal that Jay didn't start today, I said it before the game. Long is absolutely abysmal this season, did he even have a shot, or a touch in their box?
People are saying not to blame the manager, but we have very good players capable of more than we are showing and it's the managers job to get the best out of them.
We played well for 15 minutes at the end of the first half, but we have regressed so much as a team.

Our championship promotion side would beat us convincingly I'm certain of it. If it wasn't for VVD we would be absolutely ****ed and I bet he can't wait to get out of here.
