I can see the logic but in no way can Fer slot into Siggy's spot AND do the same job. Different league.

Personally speaking, I don't like the cut of this guy's jib. Don't want him at any price.

If we sell Siggy then it's sending a blatant signal to the players and fans that the board are happy with relegation

Personally I cant see Siggy going but if he does then it would be proof positive that the new owners are here to asset strip and that HJ and his boardroom bandits are an even bigger bunch of cnuts than we currently think they are.

Loriente to Chelsea in a swap? This would be a crazy deal if it happened because it has so much going against it. Loriente, would he want to move to Chelsea on loan to, at best, sit on the bench? He may be good enough for us in our current predicament but has his form in any way suggested that he 'd fit in and make an impact at Chelsea. Personally, I don't think it has.

The other side to this crazy deal is Batshuayi coming to us as the other half of the swap. Again, I don't see that happening at all. This guy has a Belgian swagger about him which suggests to me that he probably wouldn't want to come to little old Swansea under any circumstances. I think his ego may require a 'bigger' stage for him to perform on.

There's been no verifiable quotes from Conte, Lorient, his agent, Batshuayi, his agent, or any one from Swansea to suggest that this deal is a goer, its only been paper talk based on, imo, Conte's and Lorientes previous link up at Juventus many moons ago. Wishful thinking aside I'd be shocked if the reports turn out to be correct and Loriente moved to the Blues.

The other big rumour, Sakho from Liverpool, seriously? Is he any better than what we currently have? No he's not imo. I don't see the point in buying a slow, ineffective, lumbering centre back when we have a surplus of these players in our squad already. Liverpool cast off, waste of money

Talking of money, its going to be very difficult for us to sign any players at all let alone any of consequence. I seriously doubt any premier league quality players would want to come here with the club currently wallowing at the bottom of the league with only a thick black cloud of despair and depression to look up to.

The only players we may get will be from lower leagues or from abroad. The type of average player desperate for prem league and prepared to gamble on us to get them there. They're never going to be the class of player the club needs to pick us up off our knees and get us moving in the right direction. We are desperate, us fans, to get behind a special player who get us to love the team again, someone Trundlesque. In fact, we need a squad of special players to heal this club but the club simply can't attract these special players.

This all leaves us fans with a knot in our stomachs, all we have have left is blind faith and all we can hope for is dumb luck to flow our way and it sucks big time.

Do you think he is the answer, to be honest he wont join and I have to say possibly one of the worst defenders I have seen at the Liberty since we have been in the PL. He will not improve our back 4 and wouldn't thought he would suit Clement as he cant trap a bag of cement and pass a ball 5 yards. Just don't rate one bit. Poor defender and not particularly good in the air either. I know I am probably in the minority but I just don't rate him, he was another poor buy for Liverpool by Rodgers, before you all jump on me just my opinion, but I suppose any movement in the Market is progress.

I am glad you said that, but I 100% agree with you, Chalk and cheese or should I say a Ferrari and a Morris 1100.

Fer has been been decent despite his tendency to give the ball away in dangerous areas and we can't argue with his goal output, but Siggy's our best player by some distance and won't be so easily replaced imo.

I am not doing Fer down in his own right he is a tidy player, but not in Siggy class.

I wouldn't buy him but I do think he's better than what we've got. 6 month loan deal for me.

If he has a clause in his contract stipulating a fee of, say, £15-£20 million, and he wants to go, then he will be gone. Nothing the board could do in that scenario. Players rule.

What wouldn't you give for that "one season " all over again ? <laugh>

We've now become inured to dross, and some have forgotten when it wasn't thus.

It does no harm to remind those with poor memories.

Olsson was on the radar some years ago, I seem to recall.

It's a case of beggars not being able to choose, that will influence any/all signings in this window.

With Taylor out, perhaps this may finally happen?
