I'm afraid I'm really not looking forward to going to this game.

I can take us losing; it wouldn't surprise me at all. I can take us losing to Liverpool; they are playing entertaining, exciting football under a passionate and capable manager this year. I can take us being knocked out of the chance of a Wembley final, though I'd love to go.

I'm just dreading what the crowd will do in the event we don't win (or go behind at any point or not score for a while). I didn't enjoy it the other week and I don't expect to enjoy it tomorrow. Sad, really. I'm genuinely more bothered by how toxic it'll be than whether we win or lose. Support, my arse.

Meh.

I can't see how anyone can not look forward to this. It's our first semi final for you and your lad isn't it?

If there's negativity around you... sing louder! That's my plan anyway <ok>

I actually think the crowd will turn up tomorrow (as they should!) We know that they're a good side and we're big underdogs... turning up to support in hope rather than expectation is the polar opposite of say, a West Brom game.


Edit- You going to pub? And you're block 42 aren't you? What side as I'm there tomorrow?
 
Can't wait - first semi final ever for me, and back in the Northam for only the 3rd time this season. Quietly confident, but not expecting much. If we can take a 0-0 to Anfield I'd be delighted. Whatever happens, I hope St Mary's is buzzing, this is a chance to well and truly turn our season around.

The atmosphere will definitely better than tonights game anyway... supposed to be a semi final OT sounds like a morgue! <doh>
 
To all Saints fans, just remember the summer of 2009 and how you felt about losing your beloved club. Now we have an opportunity to play a cup final at Wembley and win only the second major trophy in the club's history. If you really care about this great club of ours I urge you all to QUIT YOUR BITCHING FOR 90 MINUTES AND SUPPORT THE ****ING TEAM TOMORROW NIGHT.

This wouldn't be the second major trophy we've won. You're forgetting that FA cup win in '76, in addition to the prestigious JPT!

I'm worried too for if we go a goal down. The atmosphere vs West Brom was the most bland I can remember ever being a part of.

Because they expect to go through. You make a decent point about it hopefully being louder out of hope tomorrow, rather than expecting a guaranteed win. Got us fired up against Inter that's for sure.

Thankfully though, when we go three goals down, I think the crowd will be similar to last season's defeat and we'll start hearing lots of OWTS etc to really try and get the boys off their feet.

I honestly don't think that this is the lost cause that people are making out.

Yes, they're (heavy) favourites to go through, and we haven't played well of late, but they've been struggling recently too and have a lot of players missing.

They also seem to have lost a bit of intensity recently, which is a big fact of their play and success (upto this point). Think it's a fairly decent time to be playing them really.

Now, most on here know I'm not an overly positive person. I just refuse to go to a game of this magnitude with the mentality that we're already beat before we've even set foot on the pitch. And I ****ing hope the players aren't thinking like that either.
 
As long as the players put their all in; the crowd will be behind them. If it is a lacklustre performance then the crowd will urge them on to a point but can only do so much.

Well I've been told 6 latest now so I think I can definitely be there by half past.

What time do you normally leave Brighton for a night game? Horrible drive.

Of course we have a chance, people are focussing too much on the cup game last season, but in the two league games we won 4-3 on aggregate home and away.
If we can get an early goal and get confidence then we might have something to protect in the second leg. Each game of football is entirely different and anything is possible although Liverpool start as strong favourites.
