What Brixton said
It take full responsibility for my children. Sure they can be awkward, but they are not rioters. There are some massively serious issues here that cracking a few poor jokes won’t sort out.
If there are no more problems in London tonight or tomorrow, does that mean the problem has gone away? Does it ****. Too many people have no respect for anyone else, another spark could set it off again. These people are too easily led into these situations, and are, undoubtedly, being manipulated by “criminal masterminds” who are lining their own pockets from the Comets and Dixons of this world. This is not a race issue, it is a respect issue. Kids have to be taught to respect other people and other people’s property. The philosophy of the last 20 years has been to teach kids of their rights, but none of their responsibilities. As Brixton said, those of us who are old enough have just watched this happen, grumbled a bit and moved on. We need to let the politicians know that we will only support them in the next election IF they have been brave enough to formulate policies that will start to regenerate this respect.
