Well put Ian, this is after all, a forum for discussions about a club that we all love, and we are all entitled to our opinions.

Brixham, why is that so well put. Ian posted a point and I very politely countered it. He seems to get the hump because of that. Why oh why is it always wrong to put a point of view across that is slightly more defensive of the club?

That's all I did. No aggression. I even raised the point in a seperate post about his use of Frenchman, so as not to cloud the topic, which he has now explained as non-aggressive. That's fine.

I'd like to remind people that posting opinions is allowed both in criticism and defense of the club. It is so tiresome and frustrating that nobody is allow d to counter a negative without being accused of not allowing opinions.

It is a forum and that is why I come to post and counter views. It's almost like crying to teacher at times. If people don't want to have their opinions questioned or discussed, they should write a locked blog, not post on a forum - it is as you said a forum For discussion.

Surprised how many comments have been made along the lines of "Sell one of our strikers when we're short of goals? Are you mad?" when it's clearly been said several times that if Long was sold he would need to be replaced and that he shouldn't be sold unless a replacement has already been lined up. Is it so hard to accept that a team that's short of goals should perhaps consider replacing a striker who has only scored once this season?

Haven't read all the posts so my comment was solely aimed at that post. There are to many on here that sometimes get their knickers in a twist if comments are made that they do not agree with. I was just making the point that this is a forum for open discussions on the club that we all love. I do not agree on all the posts made, as I'm as sure as day follows night, that not everybody agrees with what I write, and to be fair, I wouldn't want agreement all the way as the forum then becomes pointless.

In fairness to Puel, he didn`t have a full transfer window to work with when he took the job on, and possibly his only signing (Pied) got crocked before he got started. Boufal may not be his man, and he started the season late. This time last year, many were calling for Koeman`s head. This season (not recently though !) many were commenting that Puel really knows what he is doing with diamond/rotation etc. Fine margins. Norwich will be interesting - need to start aggressively, and I`d play my best team if I was him. They had a confidence boosting 3-0 win last time out.

Fair enough. Seemed a little odd though when the one person who didn't seem to want to accept another opinion was the one you said "well done" too.

Everyone should be allowed to post their opinion, but everyone should accept that opinion could be questioned.

I know sometimes I just shoot out and that's clear when I do, but there was none of that in my post, just a reasoned argument.

At the end of the day I feel people sometimes try to be clever with words on here or antagonise for no apparent reason. At the end of the day this forum is all about opinions. We may disagree, we may agree, that is our prerogative. Puel in / Puel out? All about opinions, where really the only opinion that will ever count, is that of the club board. Again what I have wrote here is my opinion and my alone. When I write my opinions, I really do not give a hoot who agrees or disagrees, no sleep will be lost. I just enjoy the discussions with people who have the same passion as me, and that is Southampton Football Club. COYR

A hattrick I believe, whatever that is.

Well I'll take that as me then, seeming as it was my discussion with Ian. Perhaps people should take words at face value.

It's odd you chose to say that when there seemed no cleverness or antagonising... unless my difference of opinion was that.

Sorry to raise it again with you Brixham, just making the point that it goes both ways.

One thing that does amuse me is the moaning of an 'isolated 1 striker' yet when we were playing the diamond (effectively 2 up top) loads were screaming for 4-2-3-1...

Does anyone have any Transfer rumours? Anyone? Please?

:(

We're signing no one and Kat will sell us to a dodgy Chinese group who will asset strip us and oversee our drop to League 2 and half of our fans will be happy to have 'proper' footy back <ok>

P.s. I am taking the piss if it's not obvious..

P.p.s. I've also had a couple of drinks... in case that's not also obvious <laugh>

I thought Kat had already asset stripped us. League 1 was a less complicated time....sigh

Maybe the two CDMs will allow more support for the one striker.

I agree with your comment though.

Oh yeah I agree with that completely, see my comment to you earlier (yesterday?) About me wanting another DM in the Summer and missing Vic.

Was just making the point that it seems very contradictory - though admittedly it could be completely different posters <laugh>

Btw fats... pm coming your way soon <ok>

It wasn't meant to you. If it was I would have said. :emoticon-0142-happy I do actually find most of your posts interesting, with a good point of view, and you put your points across well with passion and knowledge, as do most people on here. It's a lot better than reading a lot of the ****e on saintsweb or Twitter and Facebook, and is what makes this forum for more intelligent users. Well most of the time (that's not aimed at you Fats) Lol
