I never really liked Hodgson...

1. Blaming us for Liverpool's run of poor form because we'd supposedly not treated one of his young loanees properly.
2. "I don't really know what I'm doing here" (you can ****ing say that again!).
3. He played a part in us buying Bullard.

GTF Hodgson.

Owl faced mofo.

Have I mentioned that I think he looks like an owl before?

Can't quite remember.

I didn't say I liked him.

Just a point on the Bullard thing, I was in a presser with Roy either just before or just after we signed Bullshit (can't recall) and, when asked about why he'd let Bullshit go after he'd been instrumental in keeping Fulham up the prior season, Roy continually cryptically replied (paraphrasing) "Hull will soon see the type of person they have signed. Good luck to them and Jimmy but I'm sure it'll all become clear soon enough".

I didn't really twig at the time that he was trying to warn us.

Fingers crossed. If there's one thing we need it's a central midfielder.

I assume you mean Tom?

FFS - Never have enough midfielders. Scatter gun approach to signing players. Look at the formation we play, sign players were we don't have strength in depth. Midfield and goalkeeper should be the last areas to require any additions.

What manager in their right mind would want to sell a player if he could only spend 25% of the transfer fee?
Bearing in mind we are woefully short of bodies, that would be trading down. You might as well keep what you have.
Exactly, loans are all I'm expecting. After shelling out over £17.5m last time around, which hasn't improved our team, it begs the question so how much would it take?!! A damn sight more than 25% of any sales! But we should be capable, with some savvy negotiating, of getting a few decent striker loans in to end of season, we help them, give them game time and chance to put themselves in the shop window, they help us, no long term commitment. Can't see any other way of attracting decent players to this circus.

To be fair I think £17.5m would've been more than enough to improve us. We just didn't need 2 central attacking midfielders or a keeper.

Does this mean we have to sell in order to complete the Henriksen deal?

No that's already sorted, the only reason he's on loan is because Ehab pissed about on deadline day and didn't get it done in time. It's a bit like the Boyd deal, we've already paid the money to AZ so all that will happen on Sunday is that his contract will turn into a permanent one. We're already paying his wages anyway.

Not sure you can definitely know this. It would be nice if we can give him back and spend the cash on another player.

It'd be nice if we could give all our summer signings back and get a full refund.

I'm not 100% certain, it's how the Boyd deal worked so I can only suggest this one is done in the same fashion. I wouldn't give Henriksen back at all, Mason I couldn't care less.
