Stinking Bishop is fine but it overpowers everything else. My favourite cheese at the moment is Old Amsterdam. But nothing beats English cheese with English ales.
I fancied some Swaledale Blue but couldn't find any as it's probably unavailable here but I did get Stilton, Shropshire Blue and Wensleydale to accompany the fruit cake, nuts and port.
Just nipped for a slash returned to my telly & someone's dropped a proper stinker. There's only me & the dog here but he's pretending he can't smell owt & not owning up. Dirty canine.
Like blue cheeses. Blue Vinny is excellent. Just had some Long Clawson Blue Stilton which is very good. Had the best Blue Stilton I have ever had in a cafe in Melton Mowbray last year. Remiss of me not to have asked where he got it from.
A few little blue veined nuggets dropped onto melting Wensleydale makes the best cheese on toast ever ......... FACT!
If you first grill some bacon to crisp, then add the cheese and a dash of Worcester Sauce, you have a snack of simple distinction.
Just had to go to supermarket to refill the quality street and twiglet tins with "They should have lasted a week" ringing in my ears. FFS
cant beat a morsel of Danish blue I'm sat in my hotel room, thin ****ing walls? ****ing Spanish can chat without taking a breath. If I talked like they do, I'd be laid out on the floor gasping Ike a ****ing goldfish!
Off to see Rogue Trooper in 3D. Cheeky Nando's after maybe too. No idea why its cheeky. But its chicken and I like chicken.
I was going say I'm looking more like Barry Bethel( pre slim fast) as every glutinous, calories packed day passes. I then googled the fat bounder and saw that he got 4 years for beasting in 2009. What a ****house. Doing a turkey madras tonight, washed down with a Golden Goblin or 2.
Turkey Madras Going to have to settle for Mac cheese using up some of the cheese mountain. Nice but it's not curry. Must have a word about using up some of the leftovers for a mixed meat curry tomorrow.
Some good company tonight. West Indian Porters, Ginger Old Toms & St Peter's, to keep it civil. 'Tuthers have brought Stella to the party. Good night in store.
Enjoy. Still recovering from Boxing day family party. Straight after the game I had a quaffable quantity of Marston's Sunbeam to soften the blow. Then back to my sister's for a dangerous session which included chocolate gin (not a combo that works IMO). Sure there was some Guinness thrown in there at some point, other gins were considered and approved and the evening ended with myself and at least two of my brothers deeply debating where we all went wrong. In one disturbing half hour we played all the funeral songs of the three family members who've died in the last eighteenth months, then danced to a bizarre playlist including Bowie (still the biggest to go in 2016), Joy Division, Coldplay (not my choice), Karen Carpenter (the greatest singer of all time - Linnet CP if you don't agree), and for reasons I'm not at all sure of, a Bobby Goldsboro medley. Bed at four. Up at nine to face the complaints of all our kids (17 to 25 ffs) that we were all too noisy and kept them awake. I'm taking it easy for Twixtmas.
Our kids for the afternoon. Gins tested tanqueray no 10 Bathtub Botanist Eden Mill. Didn't like Botanist. Jock gin for One. Very salty. Bathtub very palatable. 7/10. Tanq can't go wrong. Fifty quid our kid said it cost hehe nor a lot left... Eden Mill over ice no tonic. Hint of a whisky about it. Nah not for me. Also had some proper stinky cheese **** knows what it was called though a soft gooey cheese it was. And another that had charcoal in it!! Again ok but why?? Some crunchy cheddar and a cracking Spanish cheese bit like manchego but creamier. Our lass driving he he
