Taking the mighty Tom off?

The worst managerial decision since Alf so called Ramsey pulled off Bobby Charlton verses Germany in 1970.

Is Phelan a ****ing idiot? He's sure acting like one. Mason and Henriksen are ****e. If they are the future of this club then we are as ****ed as a twopenny whore at a 50℅ off brothel with reduced rates for twosomes.
Very black adder. I love it

Or maybe rookie Phelan outsmarted Pep Guardiola for over an hour today but doesn't have a Sheikh Mansour to keep world class quality on the bench?

The fault is 100% with our owners.
If you don't like Phelan, who else do you think would accept to manage this sorry car crash of a club?

If the players on the bench aren't as good as the ones on the pitch, then leave them on the bench unless there's an injury.

The obvious sub to bring on yesterday was Dio, to get another striker on the pitch, we should never have pulled the player who was controlling the midfield.

He played well doing what he does, but if he had any pace he'd have been much more of a threat today. There were a couple of times when we got the ball in behind for him and he couldn't outrun their defenders. If he'd just been able to get ahead then it suddenly becomes very hard to stop him without a foul which would be a red card. Because he didn't have that, the defender was just in front every time and ended up getting the soft free kick their way.
If he had that pace, he wouldn't be playing for us.

You've never seen a team set up like that obi.
You've never seen two full backs push into play cm as they kept doing or the other things I said.
That's fascinating to me.

I've seen City play Manchester City a few times though and that was the worst performance I've seen. The way they set up wasted the talent they have on the pitch. Just my opinion. They looked like Arsenal, just not as good.

We where competitive and looking like winning the game at 60 minutes. Huddlestone was having one of the best games in the last couple of years. Then Phelan brings him off and says he is tired. He didn't look tired to me. Watching Diame in the second half of most games now that's tired! A 17 year old full back playing the last 15 minutes of a game in the Premier League when he's off his feet against a inform Phillips that could be described as tired. The only player to me who looked slightly jaded was Clucas so bring on Meyler on.

So Phelan decided to bring Mason, this allowed Toure to run the game with our record signing run alongside their midfield like a lost baby goat. We then got deeper and deeper and eventually letting a ineffective Sterling run at us. 1-0. Fair enough. Maybe change the composition of the team bring a centre half off and bring on Diomande drop Livermore a little deeper and push the full backs on. He decides to bring Henriksen on for Livermore taking off our last midfielder with any bite. Thus, reverting to the midfield against Chelsea which was so easily walked through. 2-0. Losing all fight, retention of the ball and chances of getting anything from the game.

Finally 3-0, and we have 3 centre halfs on the field of play. Phelan has finally found the formation and correct players to fit it (which is very similar to that of 2 years ago in the relegation season). However, he has no idea what to do in the game when the ref blows his whistle, like a rabbit in the headlights.

Allams out!
When Mason was summoned my and I should think many other's immediate thought was that's it then. So it turned out, we had been doing commendably well until then.

I think the subs were to save the legs for the next games.

I can't believe it was to win, as we'd lost the chance when we went to two nil.

Then, it was just damage limitation by resting key players. I think most posters on here are deluded if they think it was a bold move to win the game.

They came off due to the fixture list.

We've played like that most of the season
Absolutely there for the taking for any coach with a bit of nous

Bizarre because for the first 45 mins of the Manchester derby you looked irresistible. I thought at that point that Pep was a master and you were going to walk the league. My opinion has somewhat diminished since then.

Anyone mentioned marshalls **** kicking??
Obviously this will draw scorn from the usual simperers. But FFS why keep kicking to Snodgrass when Mbokani has the **** CB on toast. To be fair anyone but a ****ing dwarf could beat Otamemdi in the air.

Why the **** didn't we see stick Harry up front for the last ten minutes??
On one occasion he'd hoofed it straight into touch and the cameras went to Phelan who was telling him to kick it straight down the middle!!!!

Subs are always a risk when legs are getting tired and we're playing a decent side. It's a no win situation for Phelan; try to make a change or stick with a setup that isn't producing goals. Football is cruel; Mbokani deserved something today and really made us appreciate his ability. As a team in 20th place we really set ourselves up and played to take points today. Sadly it wasn't to be, but I feel so much better about this team than I did a month or so ago despite our league position. Shame about our owners...

Never were truer words spoken!!!!!!!!

And I would agree it was the worst performance but I think the biggest winning margin at our place?? So...
But again I found it fascinating to do the thing s he did. Are the team not good enough to do what he wants?
I hope Guardiola stays for a long time.

That is ofcourse
Most of The players at man city are not good enough or don't suit to play how he wants

For one, he doesn't have a 50 goal a season player in messi

He doesn't have busquets or iniesta
Or the ball playing centrehalf like pique
To cut it short
But it's his first season
If he stays they'll improve year on year
