Evening all. Hope you all had a good Xmas. Now that it's sale time, I'm going to buy a new TV. I know nothing about technology. How has that curve thing worked out? Worth the investment or is a standard TV still the way to go? Ultra HD? I watch football, Corrie and stuff about real crime.
What's your budget? I bought one on Black Friday last month. I didnt want to break the bank so my budget was under £500. Wanted this one but it sold out within hours... (it was £449 back then but still a decent sale price now) http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and...t-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-50-led-tv-10153657-pdt.html So decided instead to buy this which was virtually the same but curved version... http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and...tra-hd-hdr-49-curved-led-tv-10147276-pdt.html I can't fault it. 4k ultra HD is the bollox. Wanted 50" but got 49" (story of my life ) Samsung and LED means the greys and blacks are very good. I'm delighted with it tbh. Cost me £499 on black friday but 549 now (still in the sale though).
**** all imo except you can see the picture perfectly well wherever you sit in the room at any angle. That is a plus tbf but not something I was going out to look for.
I've got some Christmas weed. Haven't had a puf on a joint for at least three years. Must be about ten since i had a whole one. Got a bottle of chateau neuf de pape was £14 from aldi. Even got the kodi box working, watching inferno.
Special mention to the Mrs. What a fcking glorious spread she put on today. She did the turkey and potatoes Jamie Oliver style which tbf were ****ing delicious. Then she had roasted quails in risotto. But the highlight for me was the roast leg of lamb which had been cooked to perfection and served in its own gravy. The ****er just falls apart on the fork and I've been taking slices off it all afternoon and evening.
I've got a Samsung UHD 55. It works fine, good picture, etc. I bought it about a year ago. As Trebs says, unless you want to watch from all angles, go for vanilla. If you know the model you want, look at something like Twenga, you'll probably get it cheaper online.
Da Vinci code seemed interesting but everything after that seems like Brown cashing in on the whole thing. Probably just me being a cynic.
I'll give that a 7/10 seeing as it's been, what did you say 3 years ? Would have got more technical marks for: * more even spread of weed * using thinner rizla * making a triple skin Enjoy
Go and have a look for yourself, mate. It's the best way. You don't have to buy it where you see it, but you'll get an idea of what you want.
