Game on Tuesday night? It's a tough run of fixtures and a bit of squad rotation doesn't go amiss when games come thick and fast.
Rubbish first half but a good goal from Cardiff. Better second half although for first 15 minutes it was a bit hoof and bounce. Got to say well done to Hollow for work on DC. He is a different player. Nice to see Smith getting stuck into everything. I was wrong about him. He is doing a good job (although I did say it was because he was slow which he is). I also moaned when he took off Goss but again Hollow has proved me wrong because again Yeni is a different player and scores that goal. Special mention to Hall who put in a great shift. Cardiff have improved under Warnock and are no mugs so a good 3 points.
.....as was Helguson, but great with his head, scoring goals and holding up the ball. Just the sort of player we need up front - Smith is proving to be a real bargain buy. Didn't realize he was that tall. please log in to view this image "Ollie is hoping the 6ft 6ins striker delivers a better scoring presence than the paltry 27 Rangers have netted so far and second worst in the Championship." http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-ian-holloways-quotes-matt-12542682 Personal information Full name Mathieu James Smith[1] Date of birth 7 June 1989 (age 27)[1] Place of birth Birmingham, England[1] Height 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) Playing position Striker Club information Current team Queens Park Rangers Number 17 Youth career 2005–2006 Evesham United 2006–2007 Cheltenham Town Senior career* Years Team Apps (Gls) 2008–2009 New Mills 23 (13) 2010–2011 Redditch United 11 (9) 2010 → Littleton (loan) 3 (9) 2010 Droylsden 2 (2) 2011 Solihull Moors 14 (12) 2011–2013 Oldham Athletic 62 (9) 2012 → Macclesfield Town (loan) 8 (1) 2013–2014 Leeds United 42 (12) 2014–2017 Fulham 50 (9) 2014–2015 → Bristol City (loan) 14 (7) 2017– Queens Park Rangers 5 (2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Smith_(footballer,_born_1989)
I thought that was a tough old game to sit through. We had some good possession in the first half but didn't create much as we were too pedestrian on the ball. Probably because we had no width and played very narrow. Hall switched off for their goal and let his man have a free header twelve yards out which was criminal just before half time. We started the second half very poorly and our circumstances changed when Ngbakoto came on. Who'd have thought? At least the side showed their determination to get back into and win the game, which hasn't been the case for quite a while.
Fantastic resilt, especially coming from behind. Been by the pool all day and completely forgot all about the game. Last night in the canaries tonight and am raising a glass of red as I type. Norwich losing 5-1 is the icing on the cake! Urrrrss!
The match was full of endeavour. Very short on football though. We did actually have two good moves in the second half & we scored from the second. There is no way in the world that Smith will be given that goal, the ball wasn't even going towards the goal until it hit Richards. I saw someboby wrote that we survived a penalty claim in the 95th minute? Please enlighten me as I can't recall anything that was close to one.
Another crappy Championship game, but we won when not so long ago we would have lost. There is a spirit in the club now which was lacking before, and Holloway must be given credit for that. The crowd is responding too, it's becoming enjoyable again. Some random notes..... Bamba was left totally alone to wander in and head home - who's man should he have been? Another miracle save from Smithies from a deflected shot. Our best keeper for a very long time. Goss seemed to be just growing into the game when he was subbed. A bit harsh on the lad. Mackie was dire and should have been hooked much sooner. Washington showed again what a good player he is - MOM
One of these six, they're all static, ball watching as the corner kick comes in. Bamba is the only person in the air to meet the ball. Shocking defending. please log in to view this image
Match highlights that are unavailable for most of us overseas folks, so waiting for QPR Vietnam to post. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10790387/qpr-2-1-cardiff
I don't want to say black if you say white but I thought Bamba moved quite well to get that bullet header and once he was moving, nothing would stop him. It was a good goal from Cardiff. Agree, Smithies save was great. Mackie was a bit naff but set up Yeni for the goal and it was well played. Washington was fab.
