According to MB, Stuart Webber set to be announced as DoF this weekend. http://www.pinkun.com/opinion/micha...4945874?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it
Well Cromer, I know this potential recruitment bodes well for our future IMO. Let's hope that it is announced in the next day or two.
I like the look of Webber after what he has managed at Huddersfield, but I can't say I'm excited about some of the potential Head Coaches being rumoured: Heckingbottom, Tisdale and so forth.
There was a time when Tisdale was being touted as the next big thing but he has spectacularly failed to live up to that image! Maybe Webber can get him back on track!
Interesting comment from the erstwhile Gary Gowers on MFW today - "But these are interesting times and while the focus is on filling gaps in the new structure they’re temporarily diverted from loftier echelons in the Carrow Road hierarchy, where disquiet still exists over the ownership model." My thoughts exactly!!!
I wonder whether there's any club in the country where where disquiet doesn't exist over the ownership model!
So what's the general concensus on Webber from Huddersfield, assuming it happens, but which seems likely? If there's already stuff on this, I can soon move it across. But his CV looks solid and his stint with Huddersfield, to help get them where they are now, at this stage of the season, is to be heartily applauded? You know me, I hate to pigeon-hole people but he appears more McNally than Moxey? Anyone share this view - or have preferred candidates?
My first choice would have been the guy from Celtic, as I think he might have persuaded some of the 'fringe players' to follow him south 'for the winter' (and the other 3 seasons!!!), but IMO, I'd be very pleased if we get confirmation that SW has joined us and I hope he wastes no time in appointing an HC, so that he can assess the players properly before the end of the season.
That's the key part for me, getting someone in quickly now so that a new HC can work with the players we have in match conditions for the last 4 or 5 weeks. Should make a summer transfer window more effective and hopefully mean a swifter start to next season. If, as I assume this does drag on, it's more likely AI will continue through to the end of the season. That poses more questions if he does well and gets us into the playoffs.
That would be my nightmare scenario!!!!! Edit - and it looks quite possible that everyone's worst nightmare could be about to happen as reported by the EDP. The Huddersfield chairman obviously wants to hold on to SW - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ith_norwich_city_over_stuart_webber_1_4950194
So we couldn't afford to dismiss AN due to the idiotic contract extension allegedly offered to him by Balls which would have cost circa £2m, yet there's plenty of money in the kitty to try and prise Stuart Webber away from Huddersfield? No comprendo?
I think Huddersfield just want as much as they can get for SW. Rumour now that SW has already lined up Uwe Rosler as our HC. I wouldn't mind that happening.
