Ferguson's reaction has made this move worthwhile on it's own! After some of the **** he's pulled down the years it's highly amusing to see him trying to play the moral high ground on a transfer with us.
Alex Ferguson on Fryersâ deal: âI think itâs a blatant manipulation of the rules. It has Daniel Levyâs fingerprints all over it.â
I don't understand whats wrong with him they are getting 5% of the transfer fee about 150,000 ( instead of 6 million!!) money for nothing
The most disgusting thing about it is actually holding Daniel Levy accountable and accusing him, surely that's defamatory? But no surprise coming from the most classless football club in England
Your lucky David Dein isn't on the FA board or you might be looking at a points deduction then again having Man U's chief exec isn't much better.
Ferguson is a hypocrite, I think he should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute showing no respect for Levy or Tottenham.
Professional sport at the top level is all about manipulating the rules, without breaking them, to try to gain an advantage. SAF knows that. Spurs fans should know that too now- so no point complaining when the boot is on the other foot.
Bacon Face is saying Spurs' conduct in this transfer needs to be investigated. The FA could do worse than also look at some of the following... * Ryan Giggs (Manchester City to to Manchester United) * David Beckham (Tottenham to Manchester United) * Andy Cole (Newcastle to Manchester United) * Michael Carrick (Tottenham to Manchester United) * Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham to Manchester United) * Paul Pogba (Le Havre to Manchester United) * Michele Fornasier (Fiorentina to Manchester United)
I think we all remember the Berbatov departure....absolutely disgraceful!!! Fair play to Liege - a nice bit of business for them and us - new feeder team? The Belgians are flavour of the month after all. BTW I haven't chuckled so much reading a thread for ages!!!
Not forgetting Jaap Stam. No FA action over Stam 'approach' please log in to view this image Jaap Stam was signed from PSV Eindhoven for .75m The Football Association will not be taking any action against Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson over an alleged "illegal approach" for defender Jaap Stam.Stam claimed in his autobiography that Ferguson had made an "unofficial approach" for him prior to his .75m move from PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch international revealed how Ferguson arranged a secret meeting in an apartment close to Amsterdam's airport to tempt him away from Holland. But FA spokesman Paul Newman said the organisation had no jurisdiction to launch an inquiry into the matter. "This is a matter which has to be dealt with under Fifa regulations and not by the FA as Fifa have jurisdiction over international transfers," he said. "It is up to the Dutch FA to raise the issue with Fifa on behalf of the club if they feel it is appropriate." Premier League rules state that clubs must not approach a player without previously making contact with the selling club. "If there was a direct complaint to us, the matter would be investigated, but that has not happened," said a Premier League spokesperson. PSV Eindhoven have already said they will not be taking the matter any further. Secret meeting Stam revealed details of the transfer in his autobiography being serialised in the Mirror. "We had to keep everything under wraps, so the club (PSV) didn't find out about the unofficial approach," Stam claimed. "Ferguson was on holiday in France with his wife at the time, and on the flight back to Manchester he stopped by in Amsterdam to meet with us," said van Dalen. "I had arranged the meeting in an apartment near the airport because we didn't want to go to a hotel in case there was even the remotest chance somebody might see us." Stam said: "We spent most of our 30 minutes just talking about what my plans were and how he'd like me to come to Old Trafford. "There was no discussion about positional play, contracts or money. I guess he just wanted to meet me and see what kind of guy I was. "He strode into the room, full of confidence and smiling broadly. "'Jaap, I want you to play for Manchester United,' said Ferguson. 'I want you to command our back line and help us to win the Champions' League'."
To be fair, I think even Stevie Wonder could've seen that coming. Top wumming Levy, should've given plenty of other clubs a good laugh to. Levy should come back and tell Fergie that "he forgets all the help I've given him(selling Berba and Carrick)" like Baconface told Pardew.
The charges are... * We've diddled Man Utd out of a trumped-up tribunal fee of £6m * We've outmanoevered Bacon Face in the transfer market Cardinal sins, I think you'll agree.
Well it looks like we've organised the Standard Liege deal to dodge paying them the money the tribunal set Fortunately Spurs have set the record straight with a short statement explaining how it wasn't planned and he only left because he wasn't getting games with their new manager and was homesick. Just a happy coincidence you see If it happened the otherway around I'd be fuming but quite frankly it couldn't have happened to a bigger hypocrite or someone that I despise more ... I hope we play him tomorrow to show that the transfer is not being challenged by the FA.
Crimes against Man Utd I can't see the FA taking any action though, David Gill as expected will act with complete impartiality and I highly doubt he'll persuade other board members to persevere with this
