Correct me if I'm wrong but is this a follow up from the facebook campaign in Norway this winter challenging people to take ice baths in the sea? It started in the Northern part of the country, February/March I think. The first ones demanded a six pack of beers or 200 kroner (£20) if you decined the challenge. Then someone a little more clever asked for charitable donations instead and it caught on, big time! In the end raising several millions to charitable organisations, cancer, children, science etc. My challenge finally arrived in April, 9 degrees celcius in the water and light snow in the air, fresh
Is there an initiation ceremony, Stan? I must warn you now that I can't rap like our new signings. Every time I try I seem to break out into either beautiful poetry or tuneful song instead; it's quite embarrassing.
If I am getting this right (please correct me if I am wrong), it appears that you can be nominated to take the ice bucket challenge. That appears to me to be wrong. If I want to give money to charity, I will (I do). I certainly WOULD NOT be blackmailed into doing so.
Nope thats right sheff. Before someone does the challenge they nominate people to do it and you have 24 hours to do it.
The first rule of miserable old git club is that you have to moan, whinge and complain that miserable old git club was much better 25 years ago. Well don't then, I'm sure you have the moral strength and personal courage to decline with eloquent and cogent arguments. And welcome to miserable old gits club. It's not as good as it used to be.
Now it wouldn't be like our Rodney to miss out would it?
I nominate YOU Stan!! And as for the miserable old gits club, I'm not miserable, I LOVE being an old git!!!
I thought that was checkmate but then realised that you only get to nominate once you have taken the challenge yourself.....
It's like a pyramide scheme, only in a good way. For each challenge there comes another 3-6 challenges generating more money to charities. It became common to do both here in Norway, take the challenge and donate money.
