Pancakes? Mouse Fritters? you people are mad I mean they're not bland enough for Woy, he's a kinda bland guy, Boiled Rice or I bet he fixes a great bowl of Cornflakes
In the England Euro qualifiers, he was like a different guy. It was not the defensive Hodgson we knew and expected. Was he ****ing with us? Then at the tournament it all went to ****. So yes, he was ****ing with us.
No it suggests he gave players free will to express themselves and play their natural game to qualify as nothing to lose, but as soon as we qualify resort to the standard ****e we have seen from all England managers.
I thought he'd done well to get Fulham to the Europey final. I wanted them to win it, but was really disappointed the way they played that game. Too cautious, and didn't deserve to win. It won't be a surprise to people on here to learn that I hate defensive, unadventurous football.
Yes. But he gave them free reign ie less expectation and they was allowed to play their natural game. As soon as we qualify media and country pressure to perform well so resort to usual ****e of playing safe.
For me i agree with the sentiment that qualification was easy so nobody really cared about games and players could go win by a few goals in games and he didn't have to worry. Its clear the guy got an idea he'd flog the players for fitness after a hard season (see brazil) then they were right into the straight jacket tactically and by the end of it the team was all over the place. Its simple. everyone must buy into a system over a long period of qualification so everyone is intimately aware of what is needed and then come the tournament you play that way and thats how you win things Someone mentioned Italy? yeah they don't change styles, or Portugal. they just play the same all the time. England is piss through quali with whatever. change half the players on press demands, change the system, then flog the players for fitness in the month leading up in the heat and then see what you get.
Exactly. Against poor teams he let them play but not against better sides. Aka he didn't trust them and their abilities.
Its not that he didn't let them play, its that English national teams can't play, against the top sides. They aren't technically capable of doing so. They simply haven't got enough intelligence, tactical nous or ability to compete with the majority of nations that qualify for major tournaments.
Roy is good at getting lower team to safety and then into mid-table. He's a good manager at that level. Just not at teams with aspirations such as us and of course England.
Should have given it to Harry at the time but think that ship has sailed. Not sure why we went down the stupid route of english manager, but Harry at least would have hopefully played right way. Serious question. Does anyone think outside influences have a say in what England managers do, or just resort to standard ****e when we get to tournaments?
100% influenced by the media. Also sometimes the public such as when Joe Cole was brought back in when he was clearly not fit. And we definitely should have given it to Harry.
