tough game for both sides, one I would have certainly liked us to avoid!

why couldn't we have had Villa?! :(

I have a feeling you'll be playing us without modric and bale and maybe even van der vaart although kaka may soften the blow. I still think he has quality and would do well with a run in the team

yawn.....couldnt even be bothered to look for the 'yawn' smiley for you.

4th and I think 5th last season against each other first game. Last season it was the same I think,4th against 5th in the first game. I might be wrong but I wonder if they do this on purpose to us. Where is it playing home or away? At home we should win it but away will be more of a guess.

Better that for the toon because the memory of the 5-0 drubbing would be fresh in their memories. Tough match to call but Newcastle aren't known to be flying starters so a good point for us.

I wouldn't hold your breath, we were unbeaten in the first 11 games last season...

Although you're right, I don't think we've won an opening game since we beat West Ham over 10 years ago

That's why I think a point for us. Difficult one to call as both teams were so even last season. It could be a make or break one for Pardew.

No one will have a clue what to expect from Spurs for that game, Their friendly's must be watched intensely by Pards so he can get some sort of idea what to expect.

Good luck to him. I lost count of the number of seasons where we destroy everyone pre-season, often including some decent european opposition and then start like a complete sack of poo.
Sometimes i wonder whether its a ploy, a ploy where we haven't really understood what we are trying to achieve.

if that's what you think, you'll be very disappionted when they come out on the pitch!
