So one goal for each installment of the pension he collects, then ;)
    That seems fair enough.

He's only 29 isn't he? Not sure where this pension bollocks has come from, he's probably expecting to play for another four or five years at least.

This hatred of Naismith after only 11 games is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Nobody can claim he has set the world alight but ffs give him a chance to show what he can do.

    Excellent post 1950. <applause>
JM has certainly SHOWN potential, but can he/will he be given the opportunity to deliver next season???
My other concern is whether AN and his assistants will coach his natural talent out of him????
I'd love to see Hucks involved in his development as well.

We spent £8m on him to help us stave off relegation. His contribution was awful. Are you saying that to spend that amount of money on one player and to give him "time" is acceptable? He's a professional and should hit the ground running, he's only hit the ground by diving!

If you compare the money laid out to acquire his services in January and the "return" on that investment since then, I don't see it as unreasonable at all? Maybe Alex Neil was partly at fault, going to great lengths to emphasise just how hard the club had worked and how long it had taken to secure Naismith's 'services'.
I'm not saying fans were expecting him to walk on water...but a bit of intelligent running on grass might endear him to people a bit more and help offset the (so far) obscene and completely unjustified, performance-wise, price tag Norwich paid!

Firstly, you get nothing much for £8 million these days, and to expect a player who had barely featured for Everton, to come in and totally turn the team around, is naive. I think he also carried a slight injury which wouldn´t have helped, I can see him being a big player this season, as long as his head and heart are in it, if they´re not, then would be the time to be critical, or are you going to keep on throwing a tantrum, every match he fails to score. ;)

    Excellent post Cromer!!! <applause>
Yes RBF, he may well endear himself to the fans next season, but I along with countless others would have liked him to be seen to at least be trying in the season just ended!!!!!!

I cringed at the word 'hatred'. That was just plain silly.

I think it's fair to show disappointment in a player though, isn't it? I was certainly underwhelmed. He may indeed come good next season, but I'm assuming we paid all that money to help keep us up.

It may not be much in today's game, as suggested, but its a lot to us. I can't help feeling it could have been better spent. <ok>

I read we are interested in Fletcher :cheesy:

I think Alex Neil is trying to put together a Scottish national side tribute act ?.<laugh>

    So why did you?

As for Fletcher, we were interested in him a while back and he has a reasonable scoring rate over his career (23 goals in 72 starts and 22 sub appearances for Sunderland). Could be a sensible signing on a free, but we' d still need at least one more striker.

For free then that would be good business, just concerned fielding a side with Whittaker Martin Dorrans Naismith and Fletcher and hoping to challenge for promotion again.

Could there be a Scottish bias from Neil?

Could be, but maybe they're players he knows and who fit our wage structure and style of play. There's also the fact that Fletcher on a free would be good business, as you say, and unlike McCormack, he has considerable PL experience.

We could re sign Marshall in goal and Chris Martin too.
I would take Marshall over the current form of Ruddy.
James Mccarther was another one linked recently.

Just when we got rid of surname confusion, you want to bring it back again with the very Scottish Chrissy Martin! <laugh>
