We hope! Some talent that was already here has done well, Farke has promoted them quickly but broadly speaking the proof will be over the next few years where hopefully we are in the PL and that we will truely see if we can turn out high calibre players consistantly from the academy system.

I'm pretty sure it was SW who recruited Lewis and Aarons from Luton, but he has also restructured the academy and made it far more professional. The proof though, as you say, lies in keeping it churning out quality players over the coming seasons.

 

I'm pretty sure I used to see Lewis and Aarons lining up with JM in the Under 23s in the 16/17 season, so pre SW.

We gifted Boro two early goals and we just lacked that cutting edge from some good build-up play.
Coley was awarded MotM, but I felt that Idah and MVrris both impressed.

Quick update on Caleb Richards, currently out on loan at the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He's become a first team fixture, not missing a minute of the season so far as his team sit top of their conference. He's mainly played on the right side of a back 3, and once as a RWB/RM.

 

I thought Caleb was left footed, DH. When he signed for Tampa Bay, they said: "He is a left-footed player that will compete at the left wing back or left back positions".

 

Yeah I was confused by that, he played LB for us in the u23s for all of last season. Either transfermarkt is inaccurate, he's comfortable either side, or he's been used their due to injury issues.

I guess Max Aarons was a LB this time last year!

 

Are there any youngsters that we think will be capable of a role in the first team squad next year? depending on which league we are in?

 

Idah is a possibility depending on pre-season Same goes for the players currently on loan at other clubs.

 

Morris of course and Spyrou is another possibility, but the PL will be a much bigger step up for all of them.

Had a look online, best I can find is a Langley School U15s game in the FA Schools cup, which they won 15-1 in the first round, Shakpoke scored 9 in the first half. Scorers info isn't given until the 6th round, where he scored another in a 4-3 win.

I can't find any reference to him supposedly scoring 11 goals against Watford, do we even have an U15s side? They aren't listed anywhere on the club website?

The latter has had injury problems and he former hasn't pushed on during his loans at Exeter and Yeovil.
