Another LB prospect coming on to the horizon: "Norwich City youngster Caleb Richards is hoping he can follow in the footsteps of fellow full-backs Jamal Lewis and Max Aarons. The left-back joined from Blackpool this summer and has started all nine matches for Matt Gill’s under-23 squad so far this season. Richards, who turned 20 last month, got a brief taste of first-team football last season when he came on as a late substitute for Blackpool during a 2-1 loss at Wigan in the League Cup first round. He also started a 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy group stages and won the Player of the Round award for his performance at right-back, setting up the first goal with a cross and making two goal-line clearances for the Tangerines. “Look at Max and Jamal, they’re both full-backs and both of them are playing regularly for the first team, so it gives me extra motivation as they were here in my position,” Richards said. "Gilly has had a really big impact on me because he speaks to me and the other players regularly, individually and as a group. He helps us progress every day in training and has been really good.” http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...-fellow-full-backs-lewis-and-aarons-1-5750748
Just noticed that the "invites" teams receive to compete in the EFL Trophy make a complete mockery of Cat 1. status academies being theoretically on a level playing field. In the last two seasons the invites were sent based on the league positions of the senior sides. It's not entirely clear how invites were sent out in 16/17, but of the 24 Cat 1 academies, 6 declined to enter anyway, leaving Villa and Blackburn missing out (who both finished below is in the league in 15-16). So despite Arsenal rejecting an invitation for the first two iterations, they're straight into the competition as soon as they want to be. Villa have never had an invite, and ourselves, Derby only one invite in three seasons we could have participated. Cat 1. Academy status is a big financial commitment for clubs, even more for clubs outside of the Premier League. So why are we being penalised based on the performance of our senior team? And why are we being overlooked in favour of teams with no previous interest in the competition? Surely if all Cat 1. academies are equally, every team should get an invite to at least 2 out of 3 Trophies?
I've got 2 spare tickets and I'll be in the Queen of Iceni from about 6pm, wearing this year's third strip with Number 23 on the back!! #whoelse
Savvas Mourgos ruptured his ACL. Out for the season. Football is a destroyer of dreams. He was following in TC's footsteps in Holland. Now this big setback. All the best to him.
Mason Bloomfield scored for Accies yesterday. First time Iv'e seen him. He looks big and fast. The play starts at 1:20.
He's still only played 25 mins in the league all season, so good for him to get a goal. Hamilton seem short of goals, so hopefully it'll help him get a chance. Was anyone else completely unaware that Adam Phillips had a loan at Hamilton this season? Looks like he was there July and August, went straight into the first team, but didn't stay long?
It was talked about on p.46 of this thread. Never heard an official reason for ending his loan early.
I thought Phillips suffered an injury, maybe wrong! I also thoufht that Bloomfield got injured in his first match and only recently came back?

Tristan Abrahams played last week for Exeter and reviews their coming match here: www.exetercityfc.co.uk/news/2018/november/-tristan-abrahams-i-cant-see-why-we-cant-come-away-with-three-points/
Sean Raggett has returned to training at Rotherham: “I'm back in full training and I have been since Monday. I've had no reactions injury-wise and it's all gone well, so it's really good to be back. Even out there in training I've not thought about it. I've not held back from anything and I train how I play really." www.themillers.co.uk/news/2018/november/read--training-return-delights-raggett/
I'm not convinced that Raggett will ever get the chance to play in our first team whilst DF is HC. I don't think he has the qualities that DF looks for in a CB.
