The next one at CR is next month and I'll post details on here next week. Edit - No McIntosh is English, is 19 in a couple of weeks and has come up through the Academy, as has Middleton. So far this season, Middleton scored both goals via Stoke, scored the equaliser via West Brom and his 2 whipped crosses resulted in 2 OGs last night. JM on the other hand, was signed from Coventry.
From the Plymouth Herald: "Derek Adams highlighted Plymouth Argyle’s ‘fantastic team spirit’ after his side beat AFC Wimbledon 1-0 at Kingsmeadow. The Pilgrims had to put in a strong defensive display, which included dealing with a barrage of late corners. But they came away with only their second League One win of the season, and their first on their travels, after a 65th minute goal from Joel Grant." The first away win of the season via that clean sheet should endear Matthews to the Plymouth fans. Well done Remi!
Seems that he will be with Plymouth for some time. They have three goalies with "long term injuries" so will look to sign Mathews on a week to week basis until one returns.
A MUST read for ALL NCFC fans - especially the section on Middleton. At least someone agrees with me!!! http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...oom-for-just-a-tiny-bit-of-little-ol-norwich/
The next Under 23 matches are - Villa Sun 26 Nov 17 14:00 (at CR) Boro Sun 10 Dec 17 14:00 (at Colney)
I hadn't heard about this: Efete POTM at Torquay. I can't understand why we couldn't have placed him somerwhere higher than the Vanarama League. https://torquaytalk.wordpress.com/2017/10/31/tt-tufc-player-ratings-october-2017/
Because presumably no one came in for him higher up the leagues? Or no one higher up the leagues offered as much garantee of starting games. If he continues to impress at that level then some lge 1 or 2 sides may start thinking he can do a job for them and his development and experience grows. It just goes to show just how far down the u23 league must be in terms of quality that these youngsters can impress there but only get gigs in the Vanarama. That said, I do think its often harder for defenders to make that breakthrough because of the added need for understanding with their other defenders. A winger for example can be given much simpler instruction to hug the line and get in behind whilst tracking movement of their opposing FB. Bah!
Thanks General. I always enjoy your responses. It's hard on Michee that after playing in Iceland during the summer he had to settle for a spot in the National League. As for the U23 league, I thought the quality would be close to league 1 or a little lower. I'll have to adjust my thinking on that.
High praise from DDF for both Godfrey and Morris and he certainly feels both would be valuable additions to the first team squad - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...-with-league-one-leaders-shrewsbury-1-5273998
With Tettey still out I kind of see his point. Of Godfrey: Do you think they are ready for the Championship? I have confidence that both of the players could play a part in the Championship. Particularly Godfrey, who has all the tools to excel in a defensive midfield role, though would obviously be dealing with a better calibre of opponents.
ALL I can say, is that when I saw them both playing for the under 23s last season, they looked quite good and I'd have no qualms about both being on the subs' bench on some matchdays.
The thing is JM, would you start Godfrey over Reed, given that Trybull is an automatic choice. My take on Godfrey, obviously only from you fellow posters, is that he is more of a physical prescence, in other words, more like Tetty
Good qestion GE and I possibly would when we play some of the lower-placed teams and bring him on as a sub when we're trying to defend a lead.
Remi's own views on that: http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/spo...ews/remi-matthews-crucial-penalty-save-763907 Only one goal conceded in all of his games so far.
A lot of people said that about Jacob after coming back from Coventry didn't they. Some players just need some faith and a chance to prove. No one really knows until they get their chance.
