Perhaps we're beginning to reap the benefits of Academy One status with Maddison, Godfrey and Thompson having already broken into the senior side and these others showing potential as they are getting experience out on loan. The Murphy's, Thompson and Maddison have shown the benefit of that in developing their skills. Much has been said about our lack of depth re strikers, but Fonkeu and Abraham could well break into the squad later this year and Morris as well when he returns from loan.
Plus interesting to see Afobe playing Bournemouth's U23's at the moment. Seem to remember he was quite highly rated when Bournemouth bought him and half a dozen other strikers last year. Another potential Jan target?
I seem to recall he went for £10 or £11m Silly money considering his track and injury record. Though that was a similar figure to the one NCFC had rejected in the previous window as I recall?
Adobe has 10 goals in 44 games for Bournemouth which is decent, but hardly awe inspiring. Both he and Callum Wilson have had serious problems with injuries. Hopefully Fonkeu and Abrahams will develop into reliable strikers at a fraction of the cost!
Latest youth & loanee roundup: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2017/october/loan-round-up-toffolo-helps-doncaster-win/ Toffolo seems to be faring better of late and Godfrey and Morris are looking good as well!

Morris scores for Shrewsbury who are beating Bristol Rovers 4-0. Loanee round up - https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/201...p-morris-fires-shrewsbury-to-another-victory/
Another glowing report about Morris: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/10/1...fies-norwich-city-faith-with-shrewsbury-town/ He signed a three and a half year contract earlier this year.
The three mentioned, Maddison, Godfrey and Thompson, are not products of the academy RER, but were purchased when already playing first team football for their respective clubs. But the conveyor belt does seem to have been mended and products are beginning to come off the end once again.
Yes RER, I saw that and I hope he gets a chance to be at least part of the first team squad on his return. I was impressed with him in our FA Youth Cup winning team and on a couple of occasions when he played for the under 23s last year.
Great performance by our under 23s tonight to defeat Saints under 23s 3-0. The first 2 goals were as the result of whipped crosses from Middleton which resulted in 2 OGs and the 3 was a brilliant free kick from McIntosh. The team is really beginning to gel and I recommend trying to get to some of their games!! https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/201...ich-city-pl2-vs-southampton-pl2-on-20-oct-17/
Did Mathews play in the youth winning cup team? My memory remembers a Saints goalie on loan, can't remember his name.
If it wasn't Derby day tomorrow I would have gone yesterday. Keep us posted for the next one . Macintosh sounds Scottish too ?
Very impressive win against the youth set-up rated so highly. Middleton stood out in the highlights and others in glimpses. McIntosh's free kick for the third was very classy. Good to see him making his way back from injury.
