You can't argue with his club record though. He's been a brilliant club manager. I just don't think these ageing managers are worth taking on if you want a long term vision. It's more about a retirement pay day for them.
Jimmy? As in Jimmy Floyd? If so, not sure he's shown enough to be handed the reigns of a big club in the middle of a crisis.
Of course I mean Jimmy Floyd. And as a short term option, possibly have a RDM like impact for the rest of the season?
As I say, I can't see it. RDM was already at the club so was very easy for him to just slot in. Also, the tea boy (AVB) had clearly lost the dressing room (and the senior pro's most importantly) so any change would have bought about a positive reaction. Don't think the same has happened with Jose. I don't think just inserting a popular character in the dressing room will fix it all this time around.
you need four or five quality signings, but who? Terry and Ivanovich are finished at a high level, Remy and Pedro aren't up to the job and Costa, for all his talent, has become a liability. Chelsea don't have much quality in depth at the back or up front. You've had one of the best defences in the league, now you have the joint 3rd worst defence in the league. Will players want to come to a team battling relegation? Will Abramovich want to bankroll the £200m you'll probably need to spend? Are Chelsea's glory days over? Everyone has money now, 2 years ago Everton would probably have bitten your arm off for the money you offered for Stones, now, thanks to the TV deal, everyone can hold you to ransom.
We need a CB, a right back, and a CM the way I see it. Dont buy that Remy isn't up for it, he does more than enough when he plays. You are right about Costa though, he needs to sort it the **** out. Also Agree on Terry and Ivan. Plus we still need someone decent to sit next to Matic in midfield. We are fine for AM's.
there's a glut of quality AMs in the EPL atm, and a dearth of quality defenders with pace, which is something you really need at the back.
I don't quite see the need to go down the United route and spend 150 million every window to try and buy back the glory days. We are still champions and still have a world class manager. Something has gone awry this year but sacking the manager and/or buying a whole new team is not always the answer. There were areas that needed addressing in the summer that were not. But a couple of sensible signings and a bit more development of the many promising youngsters we have and I'm sure we'll be back in or around top 3-4 next year. It will be difficult to compete with the likes of City and United long term though given the crazy spending going on at those clubs in particular.
Indeed. We need 3 new players max i think. And for a couple of the ones we have (ie Hazard and Costa) to be kicked up the arse.
Poor effort 10 years Ditherer is now sacked so its down to you guys. Rumour has it, Romans keeping tabs in this thread to see what his fans want.
It's unlikely that Hazard will be a Chelsea player next season, almost certainly not if you don't have CL football. I doubt Costa will hang around to play Europop football either.
Well if he wants to put himself in the shop window to engineer a big money move to a European Giant, he is doing a piss ****ing poor job of it at the moment. Who the **** would take him as things stand?
