Stats arent the truth about any football match. If you couldnt see what was actually happening in that first 35 mins and reduced it down to shots on goal I'd question just how much you understand the game. I hate posting that at you RCL bcos you're generally a sound poster.
I thought Jose had Conte's number up until the sending off it was looking like a classic Jose set up. I was watching it with my mate and I said that United are going to suffocate Chelsea over the 90 that was what it looked like to me. The sending off changed the whole dynamic.
My first point was that in the first 35 mins United were more intent on kicking Hazard than playing football. My second point was that Rojo and Coata were a pair of twats. My final point was that after spending £170m you'd expect United to play something resembling attacking football rather than doing a weird impersonation of Wimbledon in the 1980s. It was awful to watch. I ain't got a beef with united or a liking of Chelsea but United looked like they wanted to do anything to avoid a 4 nil tonking and that included playing football. I expected more from a team who are unbeaten in such a long time, with a proven manager and a very expensive team. If we played the way united did last night I would not see a single positive. Rojo deserves a ban, your players acted like petulant ****ers at times and Valencia was extremely lucky to stay on the pitch.
Let's not forget also we were the away side and yet we spent that first 35 mins taking the game to Chelsea in their own half. Suffocating a team cant be gauged in the first half hour but usually as the game goes on. That's not to say Chelsea wouldnt have created chances of their own, but United were looking good and it was a toss of the coin who got the upper hand. I thought Jose got it spot on and surprised Conte who was expecting him to sit back considering his limited options for the striker. But tactically he got it spot on by going on the front foot and pressing them further up the pitch.
In that first 35 mins you and I (along with most neutrals) were clearly watching a different game. Talking of stats you might want to see where the United players were in terms of territory in that first half hour before commenting on attacking football. It seems to me most of your opinion is based on a couple of tackles and how the game changed after the sending off.
We went to Chelsea and took the game to them by playing football ... united had one tactic...take turns kick Hazard. You went down to 10 men cos your player was too stupid to realise the ref had become pissed off with it and 5 seconds after lecturing your captain that he was going to book the next player that fouled the dumbass carried on with the tactic. The fact the Uniteds keeper was head and shoulders the best united player in the first 35 mins and was the only keeper to make a save shows how in control and on top Chelsea were. I have no issue with parking the bus as defending is legit but kicking the **** out of Hazard is not.
You're ranting now fella. I simply commented on your use of stats to totally misunderstand how much of an equal game it was and how United were pushing Chelsea back. They were targetting Cahil ffs, it was bloody obvious we were pressing them high, winning possession and suffocating their play. Even the commentators were saying it! If you think we were parking the bus in the first half hour you really are talking nonsense. It's bare-faced nonsense as well. Are you honestly saying that had the game continued in the same way as that first 30 mins Chelsea would've won? Simply bcos we had no shots on target up until that point lol.
I'm yet to see Pogbad have a really high quality game. Those United already have usually outshine him.
Sorry Matth, but in today's game it's a foul. It irritates me intensely where the slightest touch, a player goes down, but that's the way it is. Soft, but foul nevertheless.
This. By todays standard, herrera's challenge on Hazard was a foul. It was never a booking in a million years, but it was a foul. Herrera missed the ball and clipped the player.....it was a foul. Hazard wasn't rolling anywhere either, even when he got stamped he got straight back up. Costa on the other hand........
